A Spirit sapphire is one of the three Summoning spirit gems that can be obtained from single-charm dropping monsters. It is also a possible reward from Treasure Hunter. It can also be found by opening oysters found in your player-owned house aquarium. It gives a 10% chance to save a charm when it is worn while creating summoning pouches. By default it has 10 charges and one charge is lost for every pouch it saves a charm for. When all the charges are consumed, it breaks. This means that by default the Spirit sapphire will save you 10 charms.
As of 22 September 2014, it can now be mined from the Gem rocks in the Trahaearn area of the Prifddinas.
Once equipped, it will become a spirit sapphire (a) and will not stack with other gems in the bank.
Originally, the spirit sapphire was used to store 5 Uncharged Summoning pouches; however, this was changed in response to player feedback. All gems obtained before the update can be converted to the current version of that gem.
In a hidden update on 1 February 2016 it became possible to combine these gems to obtain more charges as well as making it possible to combine 3 Spirit sapphires into one Spirit emerald.
