This guide is aimed at players who wish to maximise their Slayer experience per hour. It is assumed that the player is familiar with slayer mechanics and is both high levelled and well-equipped. This guide assumes you will be using Morvran as your Slayer master for all tasks. Although this guide is aimed at slayer experience, creature profitability will be included and it will be up to the player to decide if they wish to receive lower rates of experience in favour of a higher profit.
This guide also assumes you have an optimised Revolution++ ability bar
Note: For every 50 Quest Points the player has, they will be able to prefer/block an additional task, therefore having a high amount of Quest points is generally recommended
Quests that unlock tasks that would otherwise be blocked anyway are not included in this list.

Slayer Codex and Player Owned DungeonEdit
With the release of Menaphos, players with at least level 99 Slayer can fill their Slayer Codex. It is advised to invest slayer points and time to collect at least 100 different monster souls. For every 20 souls collected, slayer helmets grant a +1% gain (up to 5% at 100 souls) to Slayer experience, effectively being an experience boosting item.
In addition to the Slayer Codex, players with at least 99 Slayer have access to a player owned dungeon. The following slayer assignments are recommended to fill the three rooms available, or a player can access another player's dungeon if they have a needed room setup.
|Assignment||Reason||Recommended amount of spawns|
|Kal'gerion demons||When fought in a played owned dungeon, Kal'gerion Demons do not use their special attacks.||2|
|Muspah||Fewer creatures in a smaller room, making them easier to AOE.||5|
|Ripper demons||A POD containing only one ripper demon removes the 30% aggression mechanic, meaning that no other demons will become aggressive towards the player when health drops below 30%.||1|
|Crystal Shapeshifters||Easier grouping and use of AOE abilities.||5|
|Shadow creatures||Easier time attacking multiple shadows at once and use of AOE. Generally best to put Manifiest Shadow Creatures in your dungeon as they are greater experience/kill than normal shadow creatures.||5|
|Hydrix Dragons||High AFK experience rates and easier to avoid mechanics||1|
|Monster||Reason||Recommended amount of spawns|
|Mogre||1950 LP, has the least lifepoints, but does not aggro even with Aggression potion, not good for AFK||2 - 4|
|Suqah||2650 LP, least lifepoints among aggro options||2 - 4|
|Sophanem Crocodile||2900 LP, drops only big bones, great for area looting||2 - 4|
|Hill Giant||3200 LP, good for Champion's Challenge||2 - 4|
This guide assumes you have the following slayer rewards unlocked, although you may adapt as needed.
|Ability to make Ring of slaying.||300||Various teleport locations reduces downtime between tasks.|
|Ability to deliver killing blows quicker.||400||Tasks such as Gargoyles will not be slowed down from need to manually kill each gargoyle when they are at low healh.
Note: A legendary pet with the "Slayer Finisher" ability may be used until this is unlocked
|Ability to craft Slayer helmets.||400||Slayer helmet is the most important piece of equipment.|
|Learn how to fuse rings to Full Slayer Helmets||500||Ferocious rings fused into helmets work at Kuradal's dungeon, allowing a player to wear a ring whilst still benefiting from the damage boost of the ferocious ring|
|Full Slayer Helmet Upgrades.||2100||Increases the effectiveness of Slayer Helmet. 4 upgrades.|
|Ability to persuade Kuradal and Morvran to assign Nightmare creatures||50||High rates of Slayer Experience|
|Ability to persuade Kuradal and Morvran to assign Muspah.||50||High rates of Slayer Experience|
Other rewards are either quality of life improvements, unnecessary task unlocks or general consumables.
Players can add many Slayer items to their tool belt, such as a Rock hammer, and some special items (Charming imp, Bonecrusher, Herbicide, Seedicide, Advanced gold accumulator). The latter items require 500 slayer points each to be able to be added to the tool belt.
Although these are not actual requirements, they are necessary to reach higher experience rates and should be used at all times
For some tasks, notably dragons, you can use a Bonecrusher in conjunction with Demon horn necklace. This method negates the need for prayer potions during task. This can also be used with monsters that drop ashes via the use of the Attuned Ectoplasmator; however this is often very costly and not recommended
Overloads boost your kills per hour significantly and should be used at all times. Either Holy Overloads or Supreme Overloads with Super Prayer Renewal. It is not necessary to use supreme overloads over Holy Overloads, however a player may choose to if they have a surplus or wish to increase rates by about 2% dps.
There are 3 categories for familiars that would assist in high level slayer tasks - Combat, Beast of Burden and Healers.
Beast of Burden familiars may be used at tasks where you receive large amounts of drops to reduce downtime from banking
Legendary pets are by far the best option for those, who want to make some money off of slayer without hindering their experience rates much. These pets have 2 incredibly useful abilities: Scavenge and Beast of Burden. Scavenge ability picks up items after killing enemies with a 10-15 second cool down. The second ability makes it act as a beast of burden when a pouch is used on the familiar.
Pack yaks are incredibly useful for most slayer tasks due to their ability to bank up to 240 items per hour, and adding 30 spaces to the player's inventory to collect loot.
You should always use the style that your slayer assignment is weak to, with some exceptions which will be detailed in the slayer table
Players should use the best weapons they can for damage, preferably tier 90, is good enough for most tasks, and at least tier 80 power armour. It is worth noting that the Noxious Scythe and Dragon Rider lance are far superior to other melee options due to their increased range and synergy with area of effect abilities
Using good perks on augmented items through Invention will highly increase the damage dealt and thus increase overall Slayer experience per hour.
Recommended perks for slayer:
|Aftershock||Weapon||3||After dealing 50,000 damage, create an explosion centered on your current target, dealing up to 40% per rank weapon damage to nearby enemies.|
|Precise||Weapon||5||Increases your minimum damage by 1.5% per rank of your maximum damage.|
|Equilibrium||Weapon||3||Increases minimum hit by 3% per rank, and decreases maximum hit by 1% per rank.|
|Biting||Weapon, Armour||3||+2% chance per rank to critically hit opponents.|
|Genocidal||Weapon, Armour||1||Deal up to 7% extra damage depending on how far you are through your Slayer task.|
|Crackling||Weapon, Armour||3||Periodically zaps your combat target for 50% per rank of your weapon's damage. 1 minute cooldown.|
|Undead Slayer||Weapon, Armour||1||Deal 7% additional damage to undead.|
|Demon Slayer||Weapon, Armour||1||Deal 7% additional damage to demons.|
|Dragon Slayer||Weapon, Armour||1||Deal 7% additional damage to dragons.|
|Impatient||Weapon, Armour||3||9% chance per rank for basic abilities to generate 3 extra adrenaline.|
|Scavenging||Weapon, Armour||3||1% chance per rank to get an uncommon Invention component as a drop from combat (with a 1% chance it will be a rare component instead).|
|Planted Feet||Weapon||1||The duration of Sunshine and Death's Swiftness is increased by 25%, but they no longer deal periodic damage to your target.|
A recommended augment setup is as follows
|Weapon||Aftershock 3||5 Ilujankan|
|Precise 4 + Equilibrium 2||1 Armadyl + 4 Precise||Can use 5 Precise components instead.|
|Top||Biting 2 + Genocidal||3 Direct + 1 Bandos + 1 Undead|
|Crackling 3 + X (see below)||4 Explosive + X|
|Bottom||Impatient 3 + Devoted 2-3||5 Zamorak||Devoted is unnecessary.|
|Scavenging 2 + Mobile||2 Smooth + 3 Connector|
|Enhanced Excalibur||Planted Feet + Aftershock 1-2||2 Cywir + 3 Ilujankan||Use before using Sunshine or Death's Swiftness.|
|Sunspear||Planted Feet + Aftershock 1-2||2 Cywir + 3 Ilujankan||Aftershock resets after weapon switch.|
|Mobile + X||1-2 Dexterous + X||Replaceable.|
The Slayer cape ability or upgraded ferocious rings allow for fast transport to Morvran, and are always the fastest and best options when obtaining a new task. Players can use the same item to quickly get to Kuradal's Dungeon.
With 99 Dungeoneering, you have access to the Dungeoneering cape, which has a teleport option to any resource dungeon and can be convenient for reaching some otherwise remote slayer monsters, such as the Dragontooth Island celestial dragons resource dungeon. A charged Hoardstalker ring has the same teleport options, however with limited charges.
After Fate of the Gods and having completed all optional quests for The World Wakes, Juna gives the player the Sixth-Age circuit - a fast transportation method to the World Gate, from which you can reach Muspah, Nihil, Nightmares, Crystal Shapeshifters, and Rune dragons.
Cancelling and blocking tasks Edit
Slayer assignments can be blocked at any slayer master for 100 slayer points; this requires the player's current assignment be the creatures they wish to block. Up to seven assigned monsters, or group of monsters such as grotworms or mutated jadinkos, can be blocked in this manner, with one block allowed every 50 quest points.
Cancelling the assignment costs 30 points. The monster must be the currently assigned task for it to be blocked. In order to maximize efficiency, players should cancel tasks which are commonly assigned yet offer slow rates of Slayer experience, often due to issues such as the inability to use a cannon and/or a titan, low life points, or other factors, such as long animations or specialised killing methods. Please see the task summary section below to determine which tasks should be considered for the use of a block.
Players are recommended to use the cancel option as often as it can be used while maintaining a stable level of Slayer reward points. This will ensure that the player spends as much time as possible doing tasks which offer fast Slayer experience.
The task summary section of this guide will tell you which tasks to block, what to skip, and the ones to complete if you are running low on Slayer points. For example, a player that is running low on points may do a greater demon task despite the fact that these tasks are usually cancelled. These tasks also give out more ferocious rings if done in Kuradal's Dungeon.
If a toggle able task is on that the player does not wish to do, toggle the task off to avoid wasting slayer points on cancelling.
Guide to optimal tasks.Edit
This table does is often not indicative of a monsters weakness or other irrelevant data, this table instead serves as a reference point for optimal task completion. Slayer rates attained using recommended equipment and revolution++
|Task||Slay XP/h||Use||Slayer Lvl||Notes|
|Ripper Demon||700k||Melee||96||Use upgraded darklight + demon slayer perk (demon slayer equipment doesn't work here), make sure to be on a low ping world and pay attention to move away from the shadow of the insta kill spec.|
|Soul devourer||680k Croc||Melee||105-117|
|Shadow creatures||680k Manifest||Melee||1||Use 5 manifest in personal slayer dungeon Aggro pot + Soulsplit or wear quiver 4 360kxp/h in Priff|
|Nightmare||650k||Melee||80||Scythe with Aggro pot in psd, vamp scrim, pray range, use devotion asap.(aggro knocks it up a notch for that extra xp but you need to eat a lot, for an easier time don't use aggro but expect about 450-500k xp/h)|
|Lost Grove Creatures||610k Golem||Mage||102-108|
|Gemstone dragons||610k Hydrix||Range||95-101|
|Acheron mammoth||600k||Melee||96||Use soulsplit and Vamp scrim, move 2 spaces away from where you are standing when they throw rocks, switch to melee pray(and use devotion) for when the blue bar above their head fills and they start to charge|
|Corrupted creature||580k Worker||Melee||88-103|
|Elves||560k||Melee||1||Sythe 6 in 1/2 tiles in Iorwerth (Use voice for extra xp gains)|
|Living wyverns||530k||Melee||96||These are a super quick task when done right. Use dual wield, pray melee and use a vamp scrim, just threshold and berserk until the cavern chill reaches 90% then light a bonfire and take it back down to 60%|
|Crystal shapeshifters||500k||Melee||80||Best done with 5 in psd using aggropots with a scythe and vamp scrim Use (Attuned)Crystal Boots + Gloves for bonus damage, watch out moving with bleeds can hurt|
|Airut||470k||Melee||92||Pray Melee, Vamp scrim, Scythe and Aggro pot. use the corner in the airut room to group up the entire room, make use of surge/balded dive to get to one end and back, or use the easy location on mazcab, see the location/setup link for both|
|Kal'gerion demons||440k||Melee||90||Best done in PSD with 2 spawns as no spec attack there. Use dw melee with upgraded darklight and demon slayer perk on gear.(demon slayer equipment doesn't work here) kalgerions have high defense so use either brawler/berserker aura with souls or a reaper necklace with any other auras|
|Abyssal demons||400k||Mage||85||Use either Kuradal for faster slayer xp or Top Floor Slayer tower for more combat xp. Any combat style works, but Mage with Carooming 3 is best to afk. use morytania legs 4 and demon slayer gloves/cinderbanes, and boots for extra xp. for even more xp mech chins can be used but requires moving mobs|
|Camel Warriors||390k||Melee||96||Slow and clunky phase change makes these a pain, use soulsplit vamp scrim swap to mage pray and devotion for mirages if taking too much damage. target them shadow>blood>smoke, can be grouped together and chinned or scythed avoid the small wide whirlwind this deal large damage if you stay standing in it|
|Edimmu||360k||Melee||90||Scythe with Canon Elites will slow down xp/h so use tuska and bleeds on them to ko asap|
|Ganodermic creatures||360K||Mage||95||Very Afk with with Oldak Coil in agility shortcut dungeon.|
|Chaos Giants||350k||Melee||1||very easy to Afk with Cannon|
|Dark beasts||340k||Mage||90||Soulsplit, use cannon/coil and excal pick up a few sharks off the floor if needed, wear quiver 4 for increased damage|
|Automatons||320k||Range||67||Can use any style, just fight the ones with a weakness, i find range is the easiest as they rarely come in md to combo you out|
|Ice strykewyrms||310k||Mage||93||Use fire spells, don't forget kill cape if not unlocked with slayer points|
|Vyrewatch||280k||Mage||67||With sunspear upgraded by cremating 500 vyre corpses at the columbarium vyres are probably the most efficient monster to kill for xp in the game but not that great for slayer xp. Using Mort legs 4 + Flame Gloves & Ring/ Cinderbanes and lotd set seedicide to all can give 1.4m+ total xp/h,|
|Celestial dragons||270k||Range||1||Afk with Aggro and revo++|
|Muspah||270k||Mage||76||Easy to afk with revo++, use blood blitz and soul split, very important to always use ancient magiks for double damage against muspahs|
|Black dragons||180k||Range||1||Skip or King/Queen Black Dragon QBD 80k Slay XP/h|
|Greater demons||180k||Range||1||Skip or 180k xp/h afking K'ril Tsutsaroth|
|Mithril dragons||140k||Mage||1||Skip after pages, Until then best fought in the brimhaven resource dungeon|
|Kalphites||130k||Mage||1||Skip or Kalphite King/Queen|
|Ascension members||100k||Range||81,95||Skip after journals or Afk Rorarius or do Legiones|
|Adamant dragon||100k||Mage||1||Skip after journals|
|Dagannoth||70k||Melee||1||Skip or Dagganoth Kings|
|Aviansie||50k||Range||1||Skip or Kree'arra|
|Grotworms||200k||Range||1||Bad task, always block or skip.|
|Lava strykewyrms||200k||Range||94||Very good money with Wilderness Sword 4, but the risk is always very high from PvP, do not bring any gear you wouldn't mind losing|
|Black demons||180k||Range||1||Bad task, always skip.|
|Nechryael||240k||Melee||80||Bad task, can afk with aggro and scythe|
|Mutated jadinkos||130k||Mage||80,86,91||Bad task, can do to earn favour for ugune and samden seeds|
|Glacors||300k||Mage||1||Medium Effort, Poor money unless boots drop, run the enduring away from the glacor to be able to kill it quicker.|
|Tormented demons||130k||Melee||1||High Effort, can be good money if limbs drop. I use dw melee with darklight, a steel titan and a magic dreadnip to avoid the need to swap styles. Can be much easier to fight in a psd with only 1 demon spawning.|
|Nihil||100k||Range||76||Smoke Nihil can be killed with range easily, and good gp drop, but pretty bad xp|
|Aquanites||50k||Melee||78||Bad task, keep off I have seen people say these are good for farming xp, but they are not. A better use of your time would be to plant 6 magic and 7 palm trees then afk something for a few hours (abby demons, dark beasts vyres etc) to make back the seed cost.|
