The Slashed book is a quest item that is used in Elemental Workshop II. It is a modified form of the battered book, which becomes a slashed book when a knife is used on it in order to retrieve the battered key from its spine. Players must have either this or the battered book in their inventory when they make elemental shields or mind shields.
This book is available from the same house south-west of the bank in Seers' Village. It is not in the bookcase of a player-owned house, but players can take a battered book from the bookcase, and use a knife on it to turn it into a slashed book.
