Skeletal Wyverns ( Draconis ossis) are undead Slayer monsters. They are the only monster to drop granite legs, and also have a chance of dropping the draconic visage. They can be found in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon, in the chamber accessed from the southern wall of the icy area.
Slayer is required to kill them. In order to negate their heavy damaging ice-breath an elemental, mind, body, cosmic, chaos, or Dragonfire shield needs to be equipped. Using Wyrmfire potions, Protect from Magic, or Deflect Magic is also an alternative. Antifire, super antifire, and brightfire potions do not work.
Killing a Skeletal Wyvern is one of the hard
Falador Tasks as well as for the wish list of the Odd Old Man in the Fur 'n' Seek quest.
Players on a slayer task with over 85 magic, 68 summoning, and 80 defence, with a
full slayer helmet and using appropriate combat potions, can easily profit from this task. They are also a good source of crimson charms, although there are many easier alternatives if one is not on a slayer task.
living counterparts reside deeper in the same cave.
Wyverns attack with melee, ranged or their unique ice-breath attack. This attack can freeze players, and they will be stunned as well, so escaping is not possible unless
Freedom is used to break free (this is currently glitched and will not free the player like it otherwise should, although it does break the stun).
If a player is not wearing one of the shields they will be hit for very high damage. Their ice-breath attack deals typeless damage, meaning armour type and armour stats do not affect it's accuracy.
Wyverns will use a ranged attack both when players are attacking from a distance and when they are attacking within melee range. Their melee attacks are comprised of a bite and use of the tail.
