[edit] The Ghost of General Khazard

Items: Ghostly Robes, Ring of Visibility, Amulet of Ghostspeak, 40 coins.

Talking to General Khazard north of Sinclair Mansion

[edit] The ghost scouts

Items: Ghostly Robes, Ring of Visibility, Amulet of Ghostspeak, Shantay Pass, Waterskins.

Notice: It is highly recommended to carry anti poisons while travelling through Karamja because of many poisonous foes, which have a high rate of poisoning you with jungle poison which hits a 14 very often.

  • Go find the four scouts at the locations he mentions. Make sure you wear the Ring of Visibility to see them, the Ghostspeak Amulet to talk to them, and the Ghostly robes for them to recognise you as a messenger for General Khazard.
  • The scouts are on the move constantly, so look around in the area given below:
  1. The Scout (Jungle) is near the Tai Bwo Wannai village. Go to the special tree patch with mahogany and teak trees, and search just a bit to the south-east of there. (The jungle south-east of the start of the Jungle Potion quest.)
  2. The Scout (Gnome) is to the south of the Gnome Stronghold. He could be right by the entrance, but he may be anywhere from near the orchard, circling around the Apple orchard, and up to where the Hobgoblins are camped.
  3. The Scout (Knight) is a little east of Falador, between the Falador east wall and the Draynor Manor west fence.
  4. The Scout (Desert) is a little south of the Shantay Pass. Go through the pass, and search the area around the rock formation just to the south of the pass. (Note: You may want to bring waterskins to survive the desert heat.)

[edit] The Ghost of Bouncer

The ghost of Bouncer!
Throwing the severed leg

Items: Armour, weapon (preferably melee weapons such as DDP++), food (sharks or monkfish). Super sets are recommended.
Note: During the fight, you cannot use prayers of any sort, so make sure you have good food.

  • Go to the Goblin Cave, right by the Fishing Guild. The cave is known from the Dwarf Cannon, One Small Favour, and Land of the Goblins quests along with Goblin High Priest Miniquest.
  • Enter the cave, and head north. Take the first passage to the east, and you will arrive at a large cavern.
  • Do whatever you need to prepare, and enter the "crack" in the south wall of the cavern, once inside the cave you will see a very short cutscene showing Bouncer and the player will complain on how G. Khazard has betrayed him again, then the fight will begin.
  • Now, you need to defeat the level 160 ghost of Bouncer. Use your preferred method to kill it. A Poisoned dragon dagger is extremely effective as its special attacks will reduce Bouncer's health fast. If necessary, switch to a better weapon, once you have used up all DDP special attacks. If you are around a combat level of 100, supplies will most likely be unnecessary.
  • The ghost of Bouncer can hit up to 20, but usually hits 12-18s, so make sure your health does not drop too low.
  • Keep hitting the ghost until its health drops to 10 HP. Then, you will automatically throw the leg to distract the ghost.
  • Once it is distracted, you will say "Away, darn spot!" and deliver a final blow, killing it.
  • It might seem dangerous, but as with most quest monsters, it is easier than its combat level suggests. If you are well armored and have a good stab weapon, it is possible to defeat him without any food or potions, even if you have a relatively low combat level.
  • The player could hide in the corner, where the ghost cannot hit you, and use the poison hide trick similar to the one in knight training grounds

[edit] Trivia

  • When Khazard hands you the severed leg, your player says: "Ugh, well, at least it's not another hand." Then the General replies: "What, have you dealed with severed limbs before?" and the player replies: "It's a long story." This is a reference to the Hand in the sand quest.
  • Shadow Sword was released without the usual Update announcement (also called "hidden updates"). It was mentioned in the Update:Behind the Scenes - February (2007); the 2 seers paragraphs between the Osman and second quest references.
  • The Shadow Sword is part of the Ghostly robes which was also released without announcement. Ghosts are invisible, so Jagex had planned it again to have no announcement and wait for the ghost item to be discovered.
  • To get another Shadow Sword, go back to the cave and talk to the ghost there.
  • At one point there was a glitch with the shadow sword, where if you attempt to hit a combat stone using the "defensive" attack option, it would say "You can only use melee attacks on the stone." This has since been fixed. The shadow sword also sounds completely different from all other Two-Handed Swords.
  • The final ghost you inform gives you a message to give to Khazard and adds on the statement: "The messenger is Pavlov," probably referring to Pavlov's dogs and Khazard's dog Bouncer.
  • When throwing the severed leg in the final battle, you automatically say "Away, darn spot!" Besides being a play on the famous dog name "Spot", this is a reference to the classic line from Shakespeare's play Macbeth wherein Lady Macbeth utters the phrase "Out, damned spot!" when she is sleepwalking, and feeling guilty for helping to murder the Scottish king.
  • The ghost that appears after defeating the Bouncer, which you can retrieve your sword from, appears to be wearing a Cape of Legends.
  • The desert scout wears a Lunar helm and also a karils leather skirt.
  • If the player has completed the Vampire Slayer quest then the Falador Scout will talk about an adventurer killing Count Draynor and how he will have to verify whether this is true or not.
