Seercull

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Seercull is a bow that is similar to the Magic longbow, differing only in its rate of fire and special attack. The special attack temporarily drains the target's Magic level by the amount of damage inflicted. It requires Level 50 Ranged to wield.

The meaning of Seercull can be attributed to the combination of the words seer (another word for "mage or wizard") and the word cull (another word for "kill"). In other words, the mage-killer.

Due to the fact that its special is only effective against players, combined the average shooting rate and its inability to be kept over most ranger armour after death, the Seercull is not commonly used by players training the Ranged skill. However its effectiveness against wizards has made it useful for the Fist of Guthix minigame, as well as other PvP situations. This is great because it's special attack will lower an opponents magic level, forcing them to use a weaker spell and have less accuracy in landing such spell. In Fist of Guthix it can be used to prevent the "hunter" from attacking the "hunted"(in some cases this prevents the "hunter" from being able to attack with magic entirely, provided a high enough hit from the "hunted").

The Seercull is a rare drop from Dagannoth Supreme or Greater Reborn Rangers.
