Scared is an emote which features the player cowering and shaking when activated.
It was first introduced in late 2005 upon partial completing the 2005 Hallowe'en event. At the time, it was a very popular emote, and players would often gather in crowds and do the emote repeatedly. It still is very popular today. If a player hadn't unlocked it during the 2005 event they could unlock it during the 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Halloween events.

- Multiple complaint threads appeared on the forums after the 2006 Hallowe'en event, stating that they thought holiday emotes should only be unlockable once.
- When unlocked in the 2008 Hallowe'en Event, it is called 'Terrified'.
- Players can unlock this during any Hallowe'en Event, or by staring into Maggie's cauldron during Swept Away.
