|Examine||A x dose Sanfew Serum.|
Sanfew serum combines the properties of Super restore and Anti-poison potions. Level 65 Herblore and completion of Zogre Flesh Eaters is needed to make this potion. It gives 96 herblore experience for a completed 1-dose Sanfew serum, 128 herblore experience for a completed 2-dose Sanfew serum, 160 herblore experience for a completed 3-dose Sanfew serum, or 192 herblore experience for a completed 4-dose Sanfew serum.
Sanfew serum is made by adding, in order, Unicorn horn dust, clean snake weed and Nail beast nails to an already made Super restore potion. The dosage of the completed Sanfew Serum is the same as the dosage of the Super restore used in the combination. Partially completed Sanfew Serums are called Mixture - step 1 and Mixture - step 2, but are not drinkable in these forms. (Due to an update to the potion making interface you can now only make 3 dose Sanfew Serums)
Players therefore need to make sure that the unicorn horn dust is highlighted before clicking each of the vials to avoid accidentally drinking any of the Super restore. Since the intermediate potions are not drinkable, the same danger does not exist once the unicorn horn dust has been added.
Partial herblore experience is given for each addition of one of the secondary ingredients in this potion, but varies non-proportionally depending on the dosage of the Super restore used.
|Dosage||Unicorn horn dust xp||Snake weed xp||Nail beast nails xp||Total xp|
A complete Sanfew Serum can be used as a weapon against Nail beasts, causing significant damage and yielding some Herblore experience. To use it as a weapon, right-click on the potion and select use, then click on a Nail beast. This should be done if a nail beast is attacking the follower in Temple Trekking.
Players making this potion for experience may find it beneficial to use a Super restore (4) on an empty vial to create two Super restore (2) as the base ingredient for Sanfew Serum. Doing so yields 256 xp from each Super restore (4) instead of 192 xp, although it uses twice as many other ingredients.
Players cannot use the Assist System to make this potion.
Notable uses of Sanfew Serum include K'ril Tsutsaroth and the Dagannoth Kings due to their ability to save space on Anti-poison potions. Although this benefit is negated if a player possess an Anti-poison totem.

Note: Snake Weed is an untradeable item, so it cannot be bought. Therefore it has no cost.
