A detailed view of a raw salmon

Salmon (cooked) or Raw salmon is an item that acts as food in RuneScape. It is available to non-members as well as members. Eating a cooked salmon heals 9 hitpoints[1].

Players can catch a raw salmon at level 30 Fishing to gain 70 experience points[2]. This is done in rivers via fly-fishing, which requires a fly fishing rod and at least one feather. (Note that, when fly fishing, there is a significant chance that a trout will be caught instead. The trout-to-salmon ratio appears to be roughly 5:3. In other words, a player will catch salmon about 37.5% of the time.)

Players need level 25 Cooking to cook a raw salmon, and gain 90 experience points when they do so[1]. Players can accidentally burn salmon to produce a burnt fish until their Cooking level reaches 56 (Lumbridge range).

Although players can eat a salmon by itself, members can also use it as an ingredient in an admiral pie, though they need level 70 Cooking to make it[3].

Salmon is a popular method to train Cooking on levels 55-70.
