Runite
From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape
- This article is about the metal runite. For mining ore, see Runite ore.
Runite, more commonly known as Rune, is the metal a step up from Adamantite. In terms of metal equipment, runite reigns as the most popular material. It was the strongest metal for non-members before the 15 October update, which brings Corrupt dragon equipment into F2P worlds.
A player needs to have a level of 85 mining to mine runite ore from a runite rock. This ore is the most expensive metal to buy as an ore. A Free-to-play player's only option in mining runite ore is to venture into the wilderness, where Revenants are a constant threat. Members players have 5 other options as well as the wilderness location, safe from high levelled monsters. A Runite bar can then be formed from the ore at 85 Smithing. From there on, players can use the bar to create Rune equipment.
Rune is pale blue colour in appearance, which is usually referred to as cyan.
Rune equipment is a drop from some high leveled monsters which many players want to obtain. It is also obtainable through purchasing on the Grand Exchange. However, its price and rarity makes it hard for inexperienced players to obtain.
