The Rune spear is a two handed melee weapon and is the fifth strongest type of spear after the Dragon spear, Guthan's warspear, Zamorak spear, and Vesta's spear. It is member's only and can only be used in combat.

It can be bought from other players or received as a monster drop (such as from a Jelly). Players who have started learning Barbarian smithing and have level 90 Smithing may produce a spear at a Barbarian anvil from one runite bar and one magic log, receiving 150 smithing experience. Players who complete the quest Tai Bwo Wannai Trio will also receive a karambwan poisoned rune spear as a reward; a cleaning cloth (60 coins) can be used to remove the poison. Players may also apply various kinds of weapon poison to the spear. It requires 40 Attack to wield, like all other rune weapons.

This is dropped by General Graardor, Kree'Arra, and Commander Zilyana as a rare drop. Mithril dragons tend to drop this at a fairly frequent rate.
