Rune platelegs can be either be bought at the Champions' Guild, at Seddu's Adventurer Store in Nardah, or from other players. They can also be made with the smithing skill at level 99 using three runite bars. It gives 225 experience. They can be worn with 40 Defence. When you high alch this, you will get 12,800 coins per bar. It is the second highest quality leg armour available to free players, only being lower than Corrupt dragon platelegs. Because of high demand and low supply, rune platelegs are more expensive than rune chainbodies, even though they are inferior in every aspect. Rune platelegs also give higher defence bonuses than granite legs, in all stats apart from ranged defence. The price of rune plate legs have dropped to a significantly low price due to the fact that demand has decreased.
It is possible to receive these from the Crystal Chest in Taverley, opened with the Crystal key.

These are rune platelegs with a light blue trim around them, also obtained from treasure trails. Both rune platelegs (g) and rune platelegs (t) offer no extra defence bonuses than plain Rune platelegs.
Do note that Players and NPCs CANNOT trim armour, so do not fall for scams whereby a player claims that he/she can trim a piece of armour for you.
