The Rune med helm is a medium helmet crafted from one Runite bar. It is typically used by people who cannot afford a rune full helm; however, some hybrid mages and rangers choose to wear it increase their defence without sacrificing too much attack. This helm is often a prized drop of the Lesser Demon and Bloodvelds since it will generate 11,520 gold when High Level Alchemy is cast on it.
It can be smithed using one Runite bar, requiring a minimum Smithing level of 88, granting 75 experience. Rune med helms are often bought to be high alched for Magic experience.
