A Rune bar is a bar of refined runite ore. It can be created through the Smithing skill at level 85 by using a runite ore and 8 pieces of coal on a furnace, or 4 if using the Blast furnace, granting 50 Smithing experience.

A rune bar can be smithed on an anvil through the Smithing skill to create rune weapons and armour, granting 75 Smithing experience per bar used. A list of rune items that can be smithed from Rune bars and the Smithing levels required can be found at Smithing/Smithing tables.

It costs 12065 to manufacture one bar using materials bought off the Grand Exchange, 11193 if using the Blast Furnace. Smelting rune bars gives a profit of 863 coins per bar, or 1735 at the Blast Furnace.

Three rune bars may also be obtained as a random reward from the Crystal chest or Dwarf traders.

This bar is also a tertiary ingredient for a Rune Minotaur pouch.
