Earlier this month on December 21st, Jagex released a vote to return the Old Wilderness and free trade, which were both very controversially removed in 2007 to fight Real World Trading[1]. Many players have called for their return for the last 3 years, but what would the consequences of their return be?

My friend Mog (Bonziiznob on the wiki) and I decided to interview Mog Time[2], a well known pker and YouTube Video Maker on his thoughts of the vote and its effects should it pass.

***

Jack Spiral: Firstly, do you support or oppose the return of the old wilde and free trade?

Mog Time: I support the return of the wildy, however not too sure about free trade since it may cause problems with hackings/scamming.

Bonziinob: Mod Mark has stated that should the new wildy return to it's old way, revs would be removed, as well as other safe zones (S.C., Clan Wars, ect.)... What are your opinions on this content and it's removal to support the old wildy?[3]

Mog Time: Honestly, It doesn't effect me personally, I don't enjoy clan wars, I don't go to corp (which is another big problem) and Revs, well they never had an affect on me, but for other players I can see how this may be an issue. I’m for it, remove it and bring it back as close to 2007 as you can, Jagex.

Jack Spiral: What do you think about Free Trade?

Mog Time: Personally, I’m not looking too forward to it, hackings, phishing/scamming will occur a lot more for pixel/online money, but apparently Jagex said they had found a way around it.

Bonziinob: Which brings me to question what type of security they have developed now that they couldn't have developed 3 years ago...

Jack Spiral: Good question Bonzii.

Bonziinob: Jagex (Mark Gerhard) has stated he has no intentions of removing the Grand Exchange[3]... I asked Mod Moltare today about what he thinks may become a strategy to incorporate free trade with the G.E and he offered his opinion on a Min Sell, and Max Buy option.... What do you think?

Mog Time: I think they're wasting their time keeping the Grand Exchange. Why would you keep it, if free trade is allowed again? One of the most pointless things they could do. I think they should remove it all together.

Jack Spiral: What effect do you think free trade would have on Price Manipulation?

Mog Time: Well, I've spoken to some merchers on Runescape, pretty well known ones, I won't mention their names since I don't have permission to, But they told me Merching will be considerably easier to do once free trade is out, which worries me.

Jack Spiral: One more question, some people have been speculating the poll is fake, what are your thoughts on this?

Bonziinob: It's not fake, Jack.

Mog Time: I have my opinion on this actually, Bonzii, if you want me to answer it.

Jack Spiral: I know, just want to know what he thinks.

Bonziinob: Go for it. Wink

Mog Time: Well, I at first thought it was fake, but I did my research on the subject and found out that it has now become illegal to sell online gold for real money by the Chinese government. That must have made Jagex give second thoughts to it and the fact people said it was fake because of the 'Guinness world records' is ridiculous, they've just lost faith in Jagex. Maybe Jagex is going to give us a pleasant surprise? Just keep voting, and wait for it. That's all =]

Bonziinob: Where will your role go? And all pkers? For the last 3 years Jagex has enforced E.P., B.H., and other methods...

Mog Time: I personally can not wait for the old wildy even though I'm making 40-50m per day pking with the new ep/drop system, I'd much rather go back to pre-2007 pking worlds.

Bonziinob: Why?

Mog Time: As I'm an old schooler, but I think the new school players will have a problem. Because I enjoyed the way old wildy was, No boundaries, every world was wildy.

Bonziinob: So your ready to kick some larger ass. Wink

Mog Time: Pretty much! Big smile

Jack Spiral: Well I wish you luck kicking ass. Smile

Jack Spiral1 and Bonziiznob would like to thank Mog Time for the interview. Good luck in your future pking adventures!
