This page is a collaboration page intended to facilitate multiple editors contributing to various wiki themes. No css belongs on this page, this is simply intended as a portal to any themes currently being developed.

[edit] Editing

Whenever collaboration occurs on a single file, it is important to have a set of guidelines for editing. In any given session where you are about to contribute to the skin, follow all of these steps:

[edit] Large scale changes

1. Edit your custom css page. If you are going to contribute to a Quartz theme, use User:Yourname/quartz.css, for Monaco, use User:Yourname/monaco.css, and for Monobook, use User:Yourname/monobook.css.
   1. If the page already existed, delete all of its contents (on Windows, use CTRL-A to select all of the contents and Delete to clear the box).
   2. Use the "Load the text of a page" feature at the bottom of the editor window to import the contents of the file you wish to edit (example, RuneScape:Theme/earth.css).
   3. Make any changes to the file that you wish. Save and observe the changes on your local copy.
2. Once you have verified that the edits are desirable, save your changes back to the proper RuneScape:Theme subpage, using a clear edit summary. Important: To reduce the likelihood of an edit conflict, do not paste and save the entire contents of your local copy back to this repository, but rather only copy back changes that you have made.

[edit] Small scale experimentation

1. Edit your custom css page. If you are going to contribute to a Quartz theme, use User:Yourname/quartz.css, for Monaco, use User:Yourname/monaco.css, and for Monobook, use User:Yourname/monobook.css.
2. Insert this line, replacing CSS_PAGE with the article name of the theme you would like to use (example, RuneScape:Theme/earth.css):

   @import "http://runescape.wikia.com/index.php?title=CSS_PAGE&action=raw&usemsgcache=yes&ctype=text/css&smaxage=18000";

3. After this line, you can insert any custom css. However, if you save these changes back to the common repository, be sure to replace the old style information with the new, instead of merely appending to the end.

[edit] Using a theme

To use one of the themes listed here, follow these directions:

1. Edit your custom css page. If you are going to use a Quartz theme, use User:Yourname/quartz.css, for Monaco, use User:Yourname/monaco.css, and for Monobook, use User:Yourname/monobook.css.
2. Insert only this line, replacing CSS_PAGE with the article name of the theme you would like to use (example, RuneScape:Theme/earth.css):

   @import "http://runescape.wikia.com/index.php?title=CSS_PAGE&action=raw&usemsgcache=yes&ctype=text/css&smaxage=18000";

Discussion about a particular theme should be directed toward that theme's talk page, not this talk page. General discussion about no particular theme may take place at RuneScape_talk:Theme.

A Monaco theme that attempts to loosely resemble the general theme of www.runescape.com.

A Monaco theme that really looks like runescape.com. Some fixes still have to be done to it, but the way it is is basically what it will look like.
