RuneScape:Requests for splitting is a project page designed to provide a place for the discussion about potential partitions of a page. If a page seems to have content suitable for two or more pages, it may be nominated for splitting here. Should the process be successful, the content will be divided into two or more separate pages.

How to nominateEdit

Put {{Rfs}} on the page you wish to nominate for splitting and save. When you save you will see a link which says "create an entry for this article." Clicking that will automatically create a page in the proper location. Fill in your reasons for suggesting the split and click "save".

Please also add {{RuneScape:Requests for splitting/"Nomination Pagename"}} under the "Pages listed for splitting" header and replace "Nomination Pagename" with the name of the page being nominated.

SkeletonEdit

Previous RfS

Frankly the switch infobox is looking rather silly by now, with 27 buttons at last count. Splitting off the ones with descriptions like the Melzar's Maze ones, the Saga one and the Mages would tidy it up a bit, and it can be added to a disambig or an otheruses if needs be.

DiscussionEdit

Split - Real Mad 10:44, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Split-  I think we should hav a disambig page for all the skeletons and then individual pages for each skeleton. The current page looks ridiculous. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 11:23, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Oppose splitting, but something needs to be done - They are still all skeletons. They should remain merged. But the problem is the switch infobox, and I think something should be done about it. I don't have any good ideas, but a start could be putting all the images in a gallery and maybe just change it to one infobox, with the experience and level parameters being Varies. Haidro (talk) 11:42, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Split - I don't know how we'd go about doing that, though. We can't have a page for every level, as that'd be insane, we can't have a page for every location either, as lots of different skeletons are shared between locations. I suppose we could split some of them of, though. We could split off Melzars Maze, Thok Your Block Off, and the Lair of Tarn Razorlor, which would help reduce things a tad at least. Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 15:49, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Why would a page for each level be insane? Given that we agree they can't all be on one page the next best thing is separate pages for them all. The next-next best thing would be to have them grouped by level so each page has only 3/4 switch boxes so it's not overwhelming. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 22:07, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
Because the whole point of the switch infobox is to be able to merge pages like these into one. Ancient talisman Oil4burgers TalkRunecrafter hat y 10:39, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

Comment - I went ahead and split off the Tarns Lair skeletons, and also removed "Level" from the buttons text. This has helped the situation somewhat :). Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 10:19, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

So, by removing the Tarn skeletons, we were able to take of quite a few infoboxes! Would anyone oppose splitting off the more "unique" skeletons like the Thok Your Block Off one, the one in Draynor Manor, the Ullek ones and the ones found in the Haunted Mine? Also, I'm unsure if the higher leveled skeletons even exist, all I know is they're in the bestiary. We should probably try and determine that somehow.Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 16:19, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
High level skeletons, aside from those in Dungeoneering, I suppose? Plenty high levelled ones there. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 16:40, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
Aye, fairly sure the bestiary has only one entry for the Dungeoneering skeleton (which is level 198). Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 16:53, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, the barrows ones could be split off too, they have a unique appearance (they're yellow-ish). Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 18:14, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
It looks a bit tidier now. Without every button saying "Level 22" "Level 24" it's way less cluttered. Real Mad 08:07, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Oppose split - They were split before, and it was even more of a mess than it is now. We had tons of skeleton articles floating around everywhere, no one knew which dropped what or where they were located, they were a pain to maintain. It's better if they stay merged, but, some cleaning needs to be done. If we split off the ones from Thok & Melzar's, I don't think it's going to be an issue to keep it like it is now (minus Thok & Melzar and the other ones that have already been split off). There are a lot of buttons, but they are neat & tidy. Signature5.pngSignature5Last.png 21:32, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

I never intended for a page to be created for every level. What I proposed was essentially what Ben did already in splitting off the ones that were "special skeletons" or whatever. Real Mad 08:07, June 10, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, but someone supported splitting them all so I was addressing anyone else who also thought that way. Signature5.pngSignature5Last.png 17:53, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

ProposalEdit

I propose we split the following skeletons off the main page:

  • Skeleton (Draynor Manor), level 16 - Found in Draynor Manor, has a unique appearance, guards the Rubber tube from Ernest the Chicken.
  • Skeleton (Melzar's Maze), level 18 - Found in Melzar's Maze, has a unique appearance, drops a key for the quest.
  • Skeleton (Stronghold of Security), level 62, 66, 68, 70 and 74 - Only found on the fourth floor of the Stronghold of Security.
  • Skeleton (Wilderness Volcano), level 74, 76 and 78 - Only found in the Wilderness Volcano.
  • Skeleton (Thok Your Block Off), level 80 - Only fought by Thok during Thok Your Block Off, unique appearance.
  • Skeleton (Ullek), level 100 - Found on the Ullek Cliffs, has a chance to drop Scabarite notes.
  • Skeleton (Barrows), level 124 and 126 - Has a unique appearance, found in the Barrows Crypts, killing them increases chances for obtaining a barrows drop.
  • Skeleton (Smoking Kills), level 14, 16 and 18 - Found in Catolax's tomb during during the Smoking Kills. They attack with ranged and magic. As they are found behind a pit, the only way to kill them is with ranged and magic.

The other Skeletons could stay on the Skeleton page, as they're either found in a variety of locations or we don't know where they are. We could also merge the 104 skeleton into the Tarn's Lair skeletons, as it was released with the Tarn's Lair update and is found just outside the lair. Thoughts? Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 11:32, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

I'd rather keep the Volcano and SoS ones in the main article - they're not that unique. The others ones serve specific purposes and do deserve to be seperate IMO. Ancient talisman Oil4burgers TalkRunecrafter hat y 11:35, June 10, 2013 (UTC)
Amended. Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 12:38, June 10, 2013 (UTC)
That's an anagram for "Dead men". Coincidence!? MolManRqsts fr splttng 16:18, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Mostly yeah - Agreeing with the burger oil, the specific purpose ones and the ones with drops unique to their area should be split off. Real Mad 12:10, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Support Proposal - Per what I said above. Ancient talisman Oil4burgers TalkRunecrafter hat y 16:15, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Comment - As it turns out, many of the skeletons that we didn't know the locations of were indeed Daemonheim skeletons. It also turns out that the Stronghold of Security and Wilderness Volcano skeletons are the same thing. Anyway, I made a neat little table that lists the skeletons "type" (for the purposes of this I grouped the Stronghold/Volcano skeletons in with the generic ones), their combat level and their locations. Give it a look. Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 10:13, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
