Salix has been a great contributor to the wiki for the past year, making a huge difference on new updates (particularly quests and Prifddinas) and taking a lead role making navboxes and other navigational tools. He has regular use for sysop rights both during hectic new update days, and more generally for page and file maintenance related to navboxes. He's a fast learner of new technologies, and he has a lot of great ideas for making the wiki better. He's had a wonderful positive impact on the site since he burst onto the scene, and I think it makes sense to make him an admin now. 01:54, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

Oppose - He's certainly an active and friendly contributor. However, I've seen at least a few (recent) instances where his impulsive and obsessive nature has caused some potentially trivial situations immediately turn into conflicts. Instead of welcoming advice and/or constructive criticism, he takes other users' edits too personally. I'll provide a few examples of such comments and actions: one, two, and three. Again, these are just three recent (2015) situations I've noticed personally. We all have our "quirky habits", but acting in haste is something that admins should avoid. I also agree with Star's comment. For now, I oppose. 13:25, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Salix of Prifddinas has shown he's an active, positive influence on the wiki in the past year and a half, catching the eye of many editors in his time here.In that time he has made mistakes, much like we all have, but has shown the ability to learn from them. Given his activity and work in certain areas of the wiki, he has naturally found himself in need of administrator tools. With that in mind, and no real lack of trust in the candidate, Salix of Prifddinas will be given sysop tools.

Salix of Prifddinas

Salix of Prifddinas TalkContribs • Last 20 Forum - Main - User talk editsEdit count

He's had a wonderful positive impact on the site since he burst onto the scene, and I think it makes sense to make him an admin now. ʞooɔ 01:54, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

I, Salix of Prifddinas, accept this nomination for adminship. I have read the policies concerning administrators. I realise that this nomination may fail. If I do get community consensus, I promise not to abuse my tools because I realise that this is a serious offence. If the community finds that I have done so, my tools will be revoked, and in extreme cases I could be given a community ban. Signed, Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 02:34, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

Questions for the nominee

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
I intend to continue to contribute to (new) articles for new releases. I'll continue to work on (quest) navboxes and everything related to quests. I'm also going to make new navboxes for inhabitants of cities, e.g. Falador, Yanille, etc. If I become an admin I'll be able to move pages over redirects myself and delete/redirect duplicates.

2. What have been your most helpful contributions to the RuneScape Wiki, and why?
Prifddinas, because that's my favourite city on Gielinor. I've contributed alot when the city was released. Afterwards I've been contributing to the new releases especially quests. Over the last few months I've been making a lot of quest navboxes and making sure the existing ones are consistent with each other.

3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
It's possible I caused Mol and IP83 some stress, I want to apologise for that. And if there's an issue, I'll post on that editor's talk page, and make a comprimise so we both are happy with the result.

4. Should this request be successful, which of the following, if any, do you wish to be added to your account: IRC operator; Clan Chat administrator?
None.

Neutral - As it stands, currently, I'm neutral. The discussion may turn my vote, though. --latest?cb=20170911143617Scuzzy Betalatest?cb=20170911144529 02:49, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

Note - However, as Salix has continued to be helpful with templates and such, I'm leaning towards his favour. --latest?cb=20170911143617Scuzzy Betalatest?cb=20170911144529 03:01, August 26, 2015 (UTC)
"Helpful with templates" is an incredibly stupid reason. MolMan 03:46, August 26, 2015 (UTC)
Support. I was hesitant at first because of the time you've been at the wiki seemed like a short amount, (It's longer than I've been here I think tbh). What I meant by "helpful with templates" wasn't really worded correctly, forgive me Mol for I was fatigued. I looked through your contributions, thought about it, and you've just been incredibly helpful in pretty much every way. A cabbage, just because y'all put up with my inability to talk --latest?cb=20170911143617Scuzzy Betalatest?cb=20170911144529 14:35, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

Soft support - He's got some quirky habits when editing, and he likes completionist capes too much, but who can blame him. Anyone who's followed his edits for any amount of time can see he's enthusiastic about improving the wiki and he's definitely working in areas where he could benefit from the tools. MolMan 03:46, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

Support - Seems like I've never seen this user before, most likely because he isn't active in the wiki chat. However, browsing through his contributions clearly show commitment and enthusiasm on improving the wiki. -- Recent uploads SpineTalkGuest book 22:02, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

Support kittens - Ever since he started editing (jan 2014), he did show he wants to improve the wiki in many ways. Yes, he has some quirky habits, but people learn from mistakes, in which I think he did. He'll benefit from the tools. Kitten tax User:Jr Mime/Signature [VSTF] 22:10, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

I think he's actually shown great improvement in not taking everything personally. In this conversation with Ryan you can tell he's a little annoyed, and that sort of small conflict is something he'd probably take personally in the past.
