I nominate Syugecin because he helps me with my page and also has lots of knowledge about Runescape. It would be an honor to add him to the team. GO SYUGECIN!!!!!!!!!!Quilw (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment.

For everyone out there... I just read at the top that being nominated by a more well how to put this... active user gives you better chances. No offense to Quilw but he isn't well known so I don't think I have much of a chance. Sysops, delete this if necessary. But everyone! feel free to vote! Tentative Support. I would love to see you attempt a rewrite of a "large" article not just making small edits here and there. You're fairly low combat, so help us out with some of the quests, the work you did on Death Plateau (quest) was good, we need more of that and some pics to go with it! Right now my feeling is "I don't see any reason why not", I'm more than happy to change this to a total support if you can demonstrate that you're brave enough to attempt large articles - part of being a sysop is following the style guide etc, and being able to point other users in the right direction. And giving them free-rein when they look like they're coming up with good stuff. --Eucarya Talk 22:48, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Chia thats not a good reason you always have a reason to oppose almost every nomination. I Support Gangsterls because he has contacted me ingame several times to report vandalism so I think he's well suited for this job. --Whiplash 13:01, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
I think you could make a few improvements as a user, including making sure of the correct spelling before correcting others' spelling, but this is not really related to sysop. I think you have the maturity to be a good sysop, just make sure you always evaluate a situation before making an action. Endasil (Talk) @ 15:40, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I nominated myself, but after my sysopification (that isn't a word is it?) someone (was it Whiplash? Vimes?) declared that users can't be sysoped when they nominate themselves. I'm only opposing because of that. If I read it wrong and can prove that it says something else, then I'll change my oppose to a pending. But still oppose. Yep I'm going to try again. I have been working hard to improve this wiki. Although my main edits are not over 500 I am constantly monitoring, chatting and participating for the wiki. I will soon reach over 500 edits, but going over 500 when you have nothing actually good to contribute would be bad, so I'll wait till something that needs my editing to come along. Very Soft Oppose It's true, you do a good job here, and I don't really care about the number of edits a person makes, but I'm a little against the self-nominating idea (yes I know it's allowed) for one big reason: who's to say you'll keep editing once you've made this position for yourself? Many want the title of Administrator just for the sake of having the "title", so once you become an admin, what are you going to do? And why do you want to become an Administrator? Convince me that you "deserve" it or that you would do a good job, and give me a reason why you want it. Who knows, you may change my vote. Runecrafting TIRRIANGANT (TALK) 16:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
How dare you judge me like that. I want this title TO HELP. I would never take advantage of it, and I know what being an admin is about... I help run 3 sites! I'm on runescape and wiki more then most of these people. I can't believe you would say something like that! I do all the work I can and it isn't enough. You think I'm just gonna say hey I'm an admin and hop offline? You didn't say that about others I bet. Well listen up... I'd develop systems, I'd BECOME MORE ACTIVE NOT LESS. If you don't like me then be that way. Because this doesn't sound like a fair vote to me! I understood when Emos opposed me. I'm not being rude either. Here's my point: THAT WASN'T A VOTE THAT WAS CRITICISM! Malestro Talkc0ntr1bs16:39, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
I worked too hard for people to criticize me. Sorry for being harsh, but criticism was all it was. this is why I deserve it. I'm active on here AND THE GAME! I am an admin on 3 other sites and I know how things are run. I know all the rules, I participate in discussions, I vote in simple polls I read and update the news IF I need to. I keep newbies updated. If you look at everything I do and say I don't deserve it, I don't know how its possible to make 'the cut'.  :\ Malestro Talkc0ntr1bs17:00, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, until that I would have given you a Neutral, but that's a definite OPPOSE. I will never vote for anyone who can't take criticism. Further, I won't vote for anyone who can't even read the post he's replying to. Tirrian was looking for your motives, not judging you. Take a seat, son, you have too much of a temper. Endasil (Talk) @ 18:46, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Though I haven't looked enough to give a support, I understand your misunderstanding and withdraw my oppose; I will remain Neutral for now. But I still object to the statement "I worked too hard for people to criticize me": learning from criticism is one of the key things that makes a leader effective, so get used to it. Criticism I can take, and I did appologize to him on his talk page. What I mean was it sounded like he was accusing me.
I read the apology, no problem, sorry you misunderstood me. I think you would be a good administrator, but I want to know why you want to be one and what the difference would be. Would anything change because you are an administrator? The real question is WHY? If you are going to self-nominate yourself, tell me why, not just the fact that you're qualified. Since you seem worthy I say soft support. Sold to Azliq. :oChiafriend12Man-skirt, or authentic Scottish kilt? 23:20, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Light Oppose: I'm sorry, but I'm inclined to agree with Tirrian. And I know you do a good job, but maybe you should try, um, again in a month. And, to remind you, sysops can do very little more than a normal user. In general, we edit just the same as you. While it IS handy to have sysops for vandals... Another thing. You're admin on three websites? OK, I've been there too, and I think that's far too much responsibility. It also ties you down to the computer far too much, which can be unhealthy... You're doing a good job on the wiki as it is. Right now, we don't have much need for so many admins, either. So, nothing against you, but I have to say, a very light Oppose, like Tirrian. I'm not sure if I'd make a good sysop...but I'm not letting that stop me from trying! I'm not as well known as Chia or Whiplash, but I'm still active (in fact, I'm planning for another Wiki-meetup soon...), and I've mainly gotten into editing my userpage and subpages, but I still make fairly decent edits to the mainspace. Though I got a bit ticked off at Total Rune's brother (for spamming about MoparScape) and the recent vandal from my school) I can still keep my cool. I will admit, though, that I am a bit nervous doing this...maybe it's because of the self-nominating thing that I'm so confused about. Stinkowing (WHAT'S IN IT?)

I say, not enough support votes to become admin. (And with the number we have currently, and the current work on the RfA system...) Maybe after the RfA system is fixed up? Oddlyoko talk 23:07, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, I have five votes...what's the minimum (yes I really do have five, I counted) Stinkowing (WHAT'S IN IT?)
You're right, you've got 5. Syu's vote isn't very easily seen. I'd say 9 is the minimum, with a 3:1 or better support-to-oppose ratio. (that means you need at minimum 9 supports and 3 opposes) Oddlyoko talk 00:47, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Maybe you should try again after the RfA system has been fixed up and RfA's are opened up again. Want me to close and archive this? You are over the 2 week limit anyways. Oddlyoko talk 00:47, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Mr Pker

I want to be an admin because I have removed a few vandals posts and warned them on their talk pages, like the ip address that signed as xx echo x3 or something like that. I am really active on the forums and I like welcoming new users to the wiki. i like cleaning after the vandals like a janitor. Please vote for friendly neighborhood Mr Pker =). Please vote for me to be a forum admin at least.

Oh my god, you people hate me. You support everyone else just because they have more mainspace edits than me. But should it really matter? I say no! Mainspace edits don't mean anything if the user is a total jerk. I don't see why some of you are so prejudiced against people with few article edits. It's irrational, it's ridiculous how one user decided that people with not many mainspace edits are looked down on. It seems like if this serial killer got 1000 main edits, they would sysop him! But what if a really nice guy had only, say, 70 mainspace edits. No chance at all. It also seems that everyone who supported me previously either opposes now (with the exception of Ilyas) or doesn't vote at all. I am so fed up with these stupid "per above" votes, since that is no reason to oppose! I am pissed off. But nobody can understand what I would do for the wiki if they would just sysop me! I also really want to see previous discussions of deleted pages, but being normal doesn't let me do that! If there was a huge vandal attack like on April 19th, you can't rely on me. I can't do squat about it. To sum it up, These are sucky reasons to oppose me. Wow, that felt good to let put my anger, even if it did take me 10 minutes... See the (3) part in the nomination? He's waited and tried again. Infact, he was part of the origional RFA surge in february and he was one of the only ones who never made it. Oh and do you have to speak in that tone to a person who already seems upset? Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 22:07, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
What tone? He was giving his honest opinion. Seriously Ilyas, this is about the community deciding on something that matters, not us just handing out sysop to everyone who's feelings might be hurt. We need to readjust our priorities. Scott, thank you for your opinion. Endasil (Talk) @ 22:25, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
I think you misinterperated my comment. I am not enforcing the random handout of sysop powers nor am I suggesting that we give them to anyone who seems to be having a rough time or is in depression. I am merely saying that, when the RFA fad broke out in mid February 2007, Cashman was one of the users who enlisted his nomination in the page, or am I confused with another user. His nomination was then declined as he and few others watched random users become sysops. Only a fraction of them actualy deserved them. I'm steering away from names. Cashman then reopened his nomination with the same hopes as evey other user who has ever self-nominated or ever even accepted their nomination, becoming a sysop. However, it was, once again, turned down and he remained a normal user. He waited and re-opened it once more. That's the present nomination. If everyone is to harrass him and become angered at him for nominating himself again, he has the right to be respected. However, you seem to think I am saying he should be granted administrative powers for that reason and that reason alone (?), which is not what I am arguing about. Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 22:53, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I'm doing a bad job explaining this but you're missing the point. Nobody is directly harrassing him but with the comments made, it gives the person who's vote is support that they are indeed (if not so then indirectly). You seem to disagree with me on the matter and so I'll leave it there because it's not going to change anyone's vote and if it even should be held (which it really shouldn't), such should be done elsewhere (another page). I don't want to offend anyone or to be offended so let's drop it here. Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 23:03, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Two minutes make all the difference, and I'm not being sarcastic. And I must say, I think you guys are just saying this crap because you got your sysop powers during that surge. You think that you shouldn't care, you got what you wanted, so who cares about other people's feelings if I got my stupid self-gratification! If you got brutally declined like this, you'd be just like me. Don't deny anything---you know it. I thank Ilyas for sticking up for me, but I think I'm gonna close this RFA until further notice, possibly I will nominate myself again (Cashman286 (4) That would sure be something.) in mid-June, early July if other sh** happens. Now, see what happens when you people oppose me? It turns into an argument and the only loser here is me, and my self-esteem goes down a notch or two. I'm not respected here, or in real life, so why do you guys have to be so hard on me? 3 and a half months I've been here, helping this wiki to become a better place, but all I get is this. Some thanks for following all the rules and being a good citizen. And eager? I'm freaking 11, for god's sake! I'm undergoing all of these moodswings, and still acting a little kiddish. Just cut me some slack, people! This is just too much!!! And yes, this RFA is closed until further notice. Cashsig.PNG 00:48, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I am going to go ahead and nominate myself. For quick reference, my edit count is here and my contributions are here. I have almost 700 mainspace edits, and almost 1,500 total edits. I have made 6 pages, and while some of my edits will be minor, I have also made some bigger edits, such as adding the “runes required” table to the lunar spells table.

Why do I want to become an admin? Two reasons:

1. The ability to delete unwanted pages: One good example is when my friend, kathooloo2, posted a thread in the market place. He then later asked for it to be deleted, and I put up a speedy deletion tag on it. I checked back 4 days later, and it was still there. I do not think this would happen as often if I were an admin.

2. The ability to stop vandals: I check the recent changes almost all the time when I am on the computer, even when I am playing RuneScape. I was there when the infamous Buck Nell vandal was there. Buck Nell went on a vandalizing rampage, and blanked at least 15 pages and vandalized for at least 10 minuets (I know 10 minuets doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but trust me, when a vandal is on runescape wiki, 10 minuets seems like forever) before a admin could block him. All the while I could do nothing but undo page after page while Buck Nell continued to vandalize the wiki. Again, I do not think this would not happen as often if I were an admin. Requests for Bureaucrat

Sacre Fi

Rationale:

Why do we need another bureaucrat? Vimescarrot and Eucarya have both announced their intentions to take a step back from the Wiki. With the loss of activity from these two, we lost two of the most influential voices on the Wiki. You can toss around the "all editors are equal" policy around as much as you want, but that will not negate the fact that people listen to bureaucrats more than others. Why? Because bureaucrats have more experience and are clearly more trusted by the community as a whole.

I have noticed that as a community, we have been reduced to a group of bickering editors, with people turning a community-based project into an arena for personal attacks and unrelated banter. I believe another active bureaucrat, complementing Whiplash's recent promotion, will help bring some focus back to the Wiki.

Why Sacre Fi? Sacre Fi has gained respect within the community as evidenced by his recent promotion to sysop. People use adjectives like "helpful" and "guiding" when describing Sacre. Even more important, Sacre has proven himself able to keep his head in absolutely every situation. While most editors despise and try to ban those who vandalize, Sacre will presume innocence and actually invite those very people to join the community in a meaningful way. On top of all this, Sacre is very well-spoken and clear. I trust his judgment more than anyone else on the Wiki, and believe that he has every ability to perform the highest level duties.

If Sacre Fi accepts this nomination, I open the door for discussion. Endasil (Talk) @ 02:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, people keep forgetting my nomination as a vote, so formally I say support. Endasil (Talk) @ 23:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I don't mean to argue, but:
  • 1) Time doesn't exactly make the editor; it really depends on the trustworthiness and responsibility of the editor (neither are qualities I hold). =0
  • 2) Would it make any difference if a person was elected to bureaucrat a month after another instead of a week?

We have like 25 editors here (not including forum only editors), so with 3 active b'crats that's 12% of this wiki being a b'crat. With Sacre being b'cratted, that'd make it 17%. It would go from about 1/10 to 1/5.
It's not that I don't like Sacre, he is a swell man and editor, but I just think we have enough b'crats. And with freedom of speach and vote I can say my opinion and vote accordingly to my opinion. Sold to Azliq. :oChiafriend12Man-skirt, or authentic Scottish kilt? 14:54, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Do not mistake my call for justification as an attack on your rights Chia. I never said you weren't entitled to your opinion. On the contrary, I was trying to see if there was a reason behind that opinion, and you have given it. Just because someone asks you to justify yourself does not mean they don't respect your opinion. Usually it's the opposite, they respect your opinion enough to try to make an effort to see your point of view. So cut it out with this "I'm allowed to disagree cause it's my right" crap. And I do appreciate that you have stated your reasons for that opinion, don't get me wrong. Endasil (Talk) @ 20:55, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Support I've been impressed with everything that Sacre Fi does, and although some think we have too many b'crats, why not have another? What would it hurt? Sacre Fi certainly qualifies in many ways, would do a good job, and so far I haven't heard a strong enough reason why he should NOT become a b'crat. It wouldn't bother me one bit. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don't necessarily agree with some of those opinions. Runecrafting TIRRIANGANT (TALK)16:57, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Oppose -- I'm sorry, you're a great editor and all but Oddlyoko just returned and Whiplash was cratted over the weekend. Do we really need 7 crats, 6 of which are active? I think we have enough. Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 22:00, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Support - I recently sent my RFA on a crash collision into Opposed-ness....and I've made amends with everyone.....and ever since I swirlied my brother and came to the wiki, Sacre Fi was there....through thick and thin, he was there. Sacre, this Support is for you man, you're the bomb. Total Rune22:31, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Note:Bureaucrats are, according to the above rules, supposed to be nominated by Bureaucrats, not Admins or ordinary Users. Chaoticar 08:40, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Does that mean that we have to stop this? <:O Sold to Azliq. :oChiafriend12Man-skirt, or authentic Scottish kilt? 14:01, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
No. --Whiplash 15:08, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Nice try. First, it says "in most cases", which really doesn't mean much, and second, two bureaucrats have already given their support so it really doesn't matter who initiated the nomination. Endasil (Talk) @ 15:44, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
What do you mean 'nice try'? I was just pointing it out. Just because I point out a fact, doesn't mean I'm attempting to derail his Nomination or something. Chaoticar 04:51, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Agreeing with Endasil here, but without the "nice try". Oddlyoko talk 04:53, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Actually, my "nice try" was directed to Chia, whose post I was responding to. It looked like he was going to try to take the easy way to a failed nomination. The point was valid and I'm glad you brought it up. While I'm responding, I've noticed that everyone who has opposed so far has only opposed on the grounds that there are too many 'crats already. If this were not the case, and you agreed that we needed another bureaucrat, could you shed some light on your opinion of Sacre as the next 'crat? Endasil (Talk) @ 18:43, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
With the surge in RFA I can assume taht some people just think this would go along the lines of an adminship request. However, a crat is a much more complicated thing. My vote still remains Oppose - All to respect. Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 20:59, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

I hope this doesn't hurt Sacre's feelings (it's not supposed to), but I think some more experienced admins should become a b'crat for having more experience. Sold to Azliq. :oChiafriend12Man-skirt, or authentic Scottish kilt? 14:45, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

No offense taken. :) What experience might I be missing? The amount of time spent here? Sαcrε 19:00, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Very Weak yet still Oppose-Like chia said, Whiplash has just became a beauracrat, and I trust strongly in whiplash. Creating more and more of these will just be a swarm of flies and not as important. Vimescarrot has left, and all... But I believe Whiplash can handle it. Sacrefi would be a great addition to the Beaurecrats, but NOT NOW. Also to edit well you need to play well, and Sacrefi has a lack of activity on the game. He would just be a voice, and not that much of an editor. Malestro Talkc0ntr1bs14:48, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Wow, I really hate to keep having to explain this to you guys. Being a bureaucrat has absolutely NOTHING to do with your ability to edit articles. You have full control over article editing WITHOUT bureaucrat, so how come people coming back to that as a basis for arguing admin/cratship? In my opinion, you could fulfill the duties of bureaucrat having never even played Runescape. Endasil (Talk) @ 18:43, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
To what Chia said: I think we should leave it this way for now. Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 02:57, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Support. It is always good to have a crat with the right attitude and commitment to serving the wiki audience and contributors. Vimes Sacre Fi is a good candidate in my opinion. I really dont see a problem with having a slightly higher number of crats. Unless they start fighting amongst eachother, which seems completely unlikely. Hence my support. --Miw 20:30, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Just to be clear, this nomination is for Sacre Fi, not Vimescarrot. Maybe I misunderstood your statement, I just want to make sure you are voting for the person you think you are :) Endasil (Talk) @ 16:25, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Oops my bad. Of course i support Sacre Fi, and this does not mean anything negative towards either Vimes nor Sacre Fi. --Miw 18:30, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Neutral I originally thought "oppose", because we already have 5 bureaucrats (which i think is sufficient) but after reading the rationale that Eucarya and Vimescarrot are going to be inactive, I agree with Endasil that a new active crat (like Whiplash recently) might do some good. However, I have to say that I don't know what Sacre Fi is like. I've seen him/her a few times here and there, but only rarely. So I'm going with Neutral. So I heard you like MudKips... 05:54, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

It's been agreed, the overwelming support for Sacre shows that he should be made a crat. Can someone get this over with and then we'll archive it? And think about it this way, this is a very long nomination but we'll not have another crat nomination for a while after this. Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 17:57, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Notice - If there are no other people who oppose and express their opinion by June 2, 2007, Sacre Fi will be bureaucrated by a another bureaucrat. Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 23:15, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Is that up to you to decide? Shouldn't an actual bureaucrat be used to measure the consensus? Dtm142 23:31, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
In fact, it is as long as a crat agrees to get the job done with. It is obvious that Sacre has won the nomination. Don't you think? Ilyas 99damageig4.jpgTalk Contribs 23:35, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
