I would like to nominate myself for the events team. i play rs ALOT and therefore am constantly looking for fun things to do in the game. i am community minded and am currently helping with an events schedule overhaul for my clan. i have some great ideas for events some of which we can work together for (GWD bosses etc), and others which are single person events but we can support each other (barrows being a good example of this). Im not really sure of what else to write so now i leave this up for opinions. if u have any questions for me please post them below and i will reply. I think I would be a good candidate for the E.T. because I went to many pvm events when I was a noob and now that I am maxed, I want to help others in events. I have experience in all bosses except nex and I am a pro in bandos gwd, arma gwd, corp and glacors. I also have done many of the non-combat minigames and would be eager to learn any that I haven't done yet. I can make almost all events and the ones I do make I will ensure they run smoothly and efficiently. I am currently 137 combat level with good gear for bossing. On a couple of our events we got crashed and if that happens with me as a E.T. member, I could have my clan come and anti-crash in a heartbeat. (Response to Yoda: I'm not trying to be arrogant, i'm showing the gear to support my claim that I can help get faster kills, which is efficient. I don't know how I would show how I'm a good organizer, besides saying that I've hosted a few good gwd and corp trips, which I can't really back up. And also zer0 didn't crash the corp event, they were simply anti-crashing for a team that we crashed.

Oppose... - I've never seen you in any facet of the community, whether it be wiki, in-game, irc, or otherwise. You also seem a bit...arrogant. Saying "I have good gear" doesn't make you a good organizer. Also, claiming to be part of Zer0 isn't exactly the best way to flatter us, and they crashed us on our corp event, so needless to say we're not exactly on good terms with them.--Cheers, Yoda 04:27, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

Neutral - I've seen you in S:C a few times, and I wouldn't describe you as a regular member, as Fergie says, but that could of course be due to timezones. You have efficient levels to make boss events more enjoyable, and I'll trust your definition of "good gear". I'd also be inclined to label you as confident as opposed to arrogant, from what I've seen. That, however, is where the praise ends. You're not in the wiki's clan, I have never seen you in IRC, you hardly edit at all, you have never contributed to the YG, and from what Yoda is saying, you are a member of the clan that disrupted a wiki event in the past. Comment - I'm a 137 with the same gear and similar stats, but that's really not the reason we go for people. We like to add people based on their ability to get along with the community well and to plan events in an efficient and creative way. So far, from what I've seen, that friendliness just isn't there (though I really haven't talked to you much, just what I've observed so far). You're a long way off this position yet. Some useful ways you can get involved and by extension recognised in the community are by joining the wiki's various chats, such as our IRC channel or Clan Chat, and allow people to get to know you. If, in future, you have integrated yourself into the community more, and have proven yourself likeable and responsible, then I'm sure you'll go far, but for now, this job isn't for you. I nominate myself as a candidate to the Events team, because I have participated in nearly all events since 2007. I did most holiday events as a noob but now my levels have increased. I have completed all but one Free-user quest. I have done many mini-games and random events. I can assist in creating events and see to it that they are efficiently carried out. I am also a expert in areas of weaponry, Armour and quests ( quest items, requirements and rewards etc. ). I can also help to get many users to participate or help in these events. I love doing RuneScape events and I will do anything to make sure they are carried out to PERFECTION. Furthermore, I have a vast knowledge on the RS map. Finally, I will state I'm an Asian in Sri Lanka, I can make a lot of other people attend your events. Thank you.

Comment - is there something im missing here? No offense to the user in question but he appears to have less edits then most of the users who get declined for 'not being integrated into the community' enough. I have also never encountered this user until now. this is all in addition to the fact that he basically has no paragraph outlining why he thinks he would be a good candidtate. Lash is very integrated into our community - he spends a heck of a lot of time in our IRC channel, and is active in our clan chat, and has been for a long time. The problem with most of the other candidates on this page is that they are not in either, nor are active in the on-wiki chat or the yew grove (unlike say fergie, who although not active in our CC, is active in editing the wiki and got known that way).

Edits on the wiki aren't required for ET - sure, knowing how to edit is useful for writing the pages, but if he just provides the content of the page, myself and the other ET members who are more wiki-savvy can do the other stuff like images, templates, notices and such. It is a team effort after all.

Is there any way i could get an 'internship' so to say? im assuming im relativly unknown in the RSW community, although i do believe i have good organisational skills, and people skills (my IRL occupation is Customer Service Leader).

my knowledge of Gielinor is not too shabby, above average, id say. im sure id apply for the full position if i were more well known in the RSW community, but i wouldnt mind learning the ropes :)

EDIT: one problem i have with events is that a large majority of events are at times that are nearly impossible for me to attend. Im in GMT+8, so most events start around 2-8am :\ unless im extremely keen and willing to die at work, im not able to attend events :(

This page isn't intended to host applications for apprenticeships, it's designed for serious candidates to work with each other, to make the team a success, and enjoyable for everyone. If you need to learn more about the role, then do so, and if you feel truly ready in future, then by all means try your hand at it again, but right now, this isn't for you. If and/or when we get someone who satisfies the criteria, and is in one of those time zones, we can start making events in those time zones. As it is, since Pharos left, we have not had anyone in those time zones and as such cannot make events for AUS/etc users that we can actually, reliably, go to. We are sorry about this, but there's not a lot we can do.

In terms of "knowledge", yes knowing stuff is important but being practical is more so. For example, are you able to successfully survive against K'ril Tsutsaroth, alone, in gear that may not be optimal for a solo fight, with supplies partially used, while waiting for the rest of the event attendees to hop worlds? And then continue there for a significant amount of time? What about doing that several times over the course of the event?

ill be honest with you on this one, ive only soloed graardor (about 2 per inventory, 3 with BoB) and done jad twice (both success, plan to do again this weekend), but since the last time i did jad, ive gained 3 combat levels and access to extremes (ovls if i stew it), the only issue is that my armour has gone from bandos to veracs, but i guess i can always guthans tank? :\

I think I would be a good candidate for the events team. I tried to go to as many wiki events that I could (Once I Knew About the Events). I think that I have been very active in the community. I'm a veteran in runescape knowing plenty about the game and mini-games. I will state that I live in the US (as does Fergie in the ET), and I do have personal things to do about once a month to every two months on the weekends. So possibly missing one or two events in every two months. I'm more knowlege than combat so I would be most helpful to participants of the event who need to know what to bring to an event. --Hair 13:29, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

Comment - I haven't been able to make the last two past events due to Thanksgiving stuff and traveling. As of this post, I am in a car on a phone, have been for couple hours, and that is the only way I can do anything on the wiki. Oppose - Hair, you're a good person to talk with, you're still somewhat active in S:C, and occasionally in the Yew Grove, but to me that's the extent of your activity here. I never see you in the CC or IRC, and I think I've seen you at around three events. I know you say you've had issues attending for the last while, but from what I can make out personally, you don't attend a good few events even when you can, and can't see why you'd need to be a member of the events team in the first place if all you want to do is tell people what to bring. Oppose - There are two reasons for my opposition. First, is the lack of activity that I've seen in the CC, as mentioned by Flaysian. Secondly, I looked at your levels, and they're quite low. To begin, I believe I would be a good, active member in the Events team. I can be trusted with hefty tasks, get along well with others, and I don't crash under stress. I am very knowledgable with several activities, including Barbarian Assault, GWD, Conquest and Barrows, and I can attend most events, with the exception of Sara and Armadyl GWD. I play for lots of time a day, so I'm almost always avaliable to discuss events with other ET members. When I'm online, I'm usually on the RSW Chat unless I have a bad connection that day, which is rare, so review my application and tell me what you think =)CENSORED

Neutral - I have known you to be too harsh/rude to newer members of the clan and myself on many occasions, and seeing as the Events Team is fundamentally based on good communication skills, I can't give you my full support due to that. When I was discussing your candidacy with you a long time ago, you mentioned that your biggest drawback is the fact that are unable to attend most events due to real life committments, timezones etc. What do you feel has changed that will allow you to counter this? Well your right, I do have issues with Saturday events, it just so happens that they are scheduled for the exact time I'm supposed to clock in for work. However this is because I am one of two employees that work in the arcade. Tonight however, I'm training a third guy to allieviate this annoyance (hopefully). I'm curious to know why we only host events on Saturday, seems foolish to have an events team and only do one event a week when other fansites pull off a few a week at minimum. I would happily start up midweek events, my school/work schedules just so happen to convene so that i have my "weekend" starting Monday and ending Thursday morning.

As for other ways I can contribute; because I work the night shift I can attend events hosted at any other time and can host events at any other time. Time zones restraints are not an issue for me. I do feel that with some effort I can create or help to create more unique events.

On another note: I am curious to know where people think I'm rude. I do openly admit that I am sarcastic and cynical and that I am working on fixing those traits, however I am unsure where people see this. Maybe it has been detected with some of my impatience towards other people (Dungeoneering does create impatience)? Or out of context words? Floppyc5 16:47, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

Weak oppose I just don't think he's ready for this yet... Attending and organising an event every week just doesn't sound like his cup of tea to me... I can imagine him being a bit like Yoda and Bull, hit and miss on events he wants to attend. As much as Gaz, Fergie and whomever else will nag me for saying that, if you're committing yourself to the events team of arguably the biggest Runescape fansite out there, you need to be ready to go to EVERY event and be there at ALL types. Oppose - You do have high in-game levels and plenty of experience, but per Rhys, I can't see you becoming a committed or long-term member of the team. I've also found you blunt to the point of rudeness to myself and other users in the CC in the past, and that would worry me if you were to be in close and constant contact with the other members and event attendees.
