Commander Zilyana is the Iceyne general of Saradomin in the God Wars Dungeon. She is accompanied by her 3 sergeants, Starlight, Growler, and Bree.

Note: This is the hard mode version of the fight. For information regarding the normal mode version, see here.

Getting there[]

Commander Zilyana is within God Wars Dungeon, and it is recommended to at least have Trollheim Teleport (Lunar) unlocked. You can also use God wars teleport or a Max Guild boss portal tuned to Commander Zilyana. From Trollheim, climb down the cliffsides go north past the thrower trolls, past the large rock, and down the entrance into the dungeon near the wolves. Once there, run east and climb down the rocks into Saradomin's Encampment - this requires 70 Agility, which is not boostable.

To get into the boss room, you need 40 Saradomin followers inside the dungeon. This can be done anywhere in the dungeon. All monsters in the dungeon are aggressive to those that do not display an item of allegiance to their god. The shard of Zaros, Ancient Book, and any piece of equipment dropped by Nex will render all combatants in the main dungeon docile. In general, GWD1 bosses are extremely easy in a mass, even the hard mode versions, so it doesn't really matter what gear you bring.

The fight[]

Commander Zilyana

Commander Zilyana can attack with melee and magic, and her body guards each fight with 1 specific style — all together, covering the entire combat triangle. In hard mode she has two phases, and at the end of her second phase she must be killed with an ultimate ability. In her first phase, she primarily uses her melee and magic attacks. Then she transitions into her second phase after a short time. During the second phase she also summons lightning attacks that move from tile to tile. They will hit you as long as you stand on them, so keep moving in the second phase to prevent unnecessary damage or death. At the end of the second phase, a blue/orange timer bar appears, during which someone must use an ultimate ability to finish her off. If an ultimate is not used, she regenerates some health and must be killed with an ultimate before the timer is up.

Use any of the ones that work. Doesn't matter which one, so long as someone does something useful.

  • Tsunami - Zilyana must be close enough for Tsunami to actually hit
  • Sunshine - The Sunshine bleeds only work if Zilyana targets the player
  • Death's Swiftness - The Death's Swiftness bleeds only work if Zilyana targets the player
