What is a clan citadel?

A clan citadel is basically a clan version of the player-owned house system. It is a highly customisable clan-owned stronghold, where the clanmates work on various skill plots to obtain resources to build new skill plots, upgrade existing skill plots, and build aesthetic items.
How do I get to the citadel?Edit
The citadel is accessed by entering the portal in the western area of the Clan Camp. By far the easiest way to get to the camp is to use a clan vexillum to teleport there, by wielding it, then right clicking it and selecting the teleport option. A vexillum can be obtained from the scribe in the north-east area of the camp.
Other ways to get to the camp include: Falador Teleport, South Falador Teleport, explorer's ring 3/4, skills necklace, Teleport to House (POH in Rimmington)/Rimmington tablet and the Balloon transport system (to crafting guild).
What world is the citadel in?Edit
All citadels exist in an Instanced Shard World, meaning that they do not occur on any of the 172 normal worlds available to players. The only way to access the citadel worlds, which range from 173 to 190, is by entering the portal in the clan camp. These worlds cannot be teleported out of, they must be left by using the portals in the citadel, or by logging out.
What is in the citadel?Edit
The citadel contains a variety of features that clanmates can use:
- A customisable battlefield, where users of rank captain and above can edit the battlefield, and all users can start a battle.
- Many meeting areas, including a meeting tent, a town square, private meeting rooms, a senate, and a dance floor.
- A multitude of skill plots, where clanmates can work on various skills, providing resources for maintenance and upgrades to the citadel.
Is there a bank in the citadel?Edit
Yes, there are two banks in the citadel:
- The Head Guard in the keep
- The crate of capes at the battlefield
What is a build tick and when is it?Edit
Once a week, the citadel 'refreshes' itself, using up one week's worth of upkeep resources, and then carrying out any build orders that have been set up and the resources gathered. Six hours before the tick occurs the ability to change build orders is locked to the clan leader only. Three minutes before the build tick occurs, a countdown will appear and the teleports around the citadel are unable to be used. Once the timer runs out, all players in the citadel will be ejected to the world that they originally joined from. The citadel may be unable to be entered for a few minutes - once it has finished upgrading, it can be entered once again.
The build tick is at 09:30 UTC on Tuesdays - 09:30 28 May 2013.
What tier is the citadel?Edit
Currently, the citadel is tier 7.
For reference, the tier of all the other plots are as follows:
- Storehouse: 7
- Woodcutter: 7
- Mine: 7
- Kiln: 7
- Furnace: 7
- Loom: 7
- Obelisk: 7
- Barbecue: 7
- Battlefield: 7
Do you have a clan dragon?Edit
Yes. The dragon perch is north of the obelisk and west of the town square - see a map here.
The colour may change as time goes on, as it is free to do so.
Do you have a clan avatar? Who can use it?Edit
Yes! The avatar pen is in the pool in town square, north of the keep.
Organisers, deputy owners and the owner can all edit the buffs and appearance of the avatar.
Interested clan admins can contact an admin rank above them to gain access to the ability to summon the avatar. The current avatar wardens currently are:
What are the buffs of the clan avatar(s)?Edit
There are three clan avatars that are owned by the clan. Only one buff can be active at a time and only one avatar is capable of being on a server at any given time.
Since all buffs have been set, the only way to reset the buffs is to remove and rebuild the Avatar habitat.
The buffs of the clan avatars are:
- Skilling Bonus, Familiar Faces, Skill Plot Bonus
- Skilling Bonus, Random Resurrection, Protector
- Skilling Bonus, Heal Over Time, Auto Ort
Who can edit the citadel?Edit
Clanmates of rank organiser, deputy owner, and owner and who are members can edit the citadel. This would be: Gaz Lloyd, Jim teh Mage, Liquidhelium, Ryan PM, Cook Me Plox, and Rwojy. Their in-game names can be found here.
Where is the clan theatre? Can I use it?Edit
The theatre is on top of the keep. The entrance is on the south side of the room on the roof.
All clanmates can use the theatre.
Where is the battlefield? Can I use it?Edit
The battlefield is at the south-east teleport in the citadel. There is a bank in the nearby cape crate.
All clanmates can start a battlefield battle. Once the battle is set up, anyone can join (including guests).
All clanmates of rank captain and above can edit the battlefield.
As a final note, the battlefield features the highest possible boost for agility and (the only boost for) summoning, both at +10. These can be used for opening effigies, and are available for use by everyone. The effigy battlefield is layout A.
Can you build this thing?Edit
If you think the citadel needs a certain thing built, be that a certain skill plot upgrade, a certain aesthetic upgrade or whatever, suggesting it to one of the citadel admins is the primary way to get heard. However, please remember the fixed citadel rule about building:
- A maximum of three aesthetic upgrades can be done per week.
Please bear in mind that we only get a certain amount of resources per week. (See here for information on the average amount of resources gathered per week.)
Finally, if you are a clanmate who is known to consistently max their resource cap in the citadel, admins may be more likely to approve your request; consistent pestering may reduce your chances. If an admin declines your request, feel free to petition for it here - if demand is high enough, it may be done, subject to other factors.
