A royal d'hide body is made by crafting three royal dragon leathers. It may be worn by players with 65 Defence. It requires 93 Crafting to make, and gives 282 experience. It provides slightly lower defensive bonuses than the Armadyl chestplate but costs much less, proving popular amongst players without the funds to purchase the more expensive body.

The data in this table is based on the current Grand Exchange prices. It is accurate assuming the items haven't changed in price, are bought off of the Grand Exchange, and the completed Royal d'hide body is sold afterwards.

- There was a glitch with this armour, when using an emote, or wielding an abyssal whip that caused the arm that held the weapon to dismount off of the body. This also occurred when recoiling from hits, cutting wood, fishing with a harpoon or net, and smelting bars in a furnace.
- The release of this armour set made Karil's armour and Armadyl armour shoot down in price due to its superior ranged attack bonus and melee defence bonus. However, on the release of the Evolution of Combat royal was made a tier 65 armour, while Karil's and Armadyl remained tier 70 with better stats.
