A Rockslug is a Slayer monster that requires level 20 slayer to kill. A bag of salt is needed to kill it. They mostly drop low level ores, unnoted, and are therefore unpopular. However, if players have 43 Magic and the required Smithing levels, it may be beneficial to bring a fire staff and a stack of nature runes to cast Superheat Item on the ores to make the task a bit more worthwhile.

Strengths and weaknessesEdit

Rockslugs can only be successfully killed with a bag of salt (which is used up) when their Life points drop to 1-39. Fortunately bags of salt stack, and are plentiful in the slayer master shop and on the GE. If the bag of salt is accidentally used before the rockslug is reduced to 40 or less life points, it will still be used up but have no effect. It would be wise to bring a few extra because of this. If a rockslug's health is reduced to 10 but a bag of salt is not used on it, the rockslug is "frozen" in place, unable to move or retaliate, even after it regains some life points.
