The Robin Hood hat requires 40 Ranged to wear and can be obtained by completing a Level 3 treasure trail. Robin Hood hats are one of the few items that aren't discontinued, along with Ranger boots, to steadily rise in price over time. They are predicted to continue slowly, but indefinitely, rising. Meaning due to a fast price rise the Ranger boots in a level 2 clue scroll are now worth more that the robin hood hat in a level 3 clue scroll, making it easier to become rich.
After the Behind the Scenes announcement for March 2007, which stated "hold on to your Robin Hood hats", many players misinterpreted this and thought the hats would become discontinued. After this, prices skyrocketed briefly before people realised that the hats would not be discontinued.

- The Non-player character Robin wears this hat. The hat is also based on Robin.
- The Robin Hood hat is only valued at 180 gold pieces at a general store, yet it is a rare level 3 clue reward.
