Ring of wealth

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A Ring of wealth is a piece of enchanted jewellery that can be made by casting the spell Enchant Level 5 Jewellery, which requires level 68 Magic to cast, on a Dragonstone ring. The ring of wealth increases the chance of its wearer getting rare or good item drops from monster drops.

While Jagex does not often give out details, it was stated in one issue of the God Letters called Guthix Ponders that monster drops are determined by a random spin on a "wheel". When you kill a monster, it rolls the first "wheel." If it lands on "rare item," it rolls another wheel that determines what rare item it will be. The Ring of wealth increases the chance of getting a better (more valuable) rare. For example, if 2 rare drops for a monster are Bronze platebody and Steel sword and the Ring of wealth is equipped, the player will most likely receive the Steel sword.

[edit] Trivia

  • The Ring of wealth does not affect Treasure Trail and Barrows rewards. It also does not affect clue scroll and PvP drops.
  • The Ring of Wealth does not affect drops while LootShare is enabled.
  • Some players say that the ring of wealth is glitched and actually worsens drops, but there is no reliable evidence for this claim. (Many people have claimed that while wearing the ring at aviansies it will decrease the chance of receiving adamant bars, although this has not yet been proven, many players still suggest not to take the ring).
  • A ring of wealth increases the chance of getting a head from a slayer monster.
  • Mod MMG made the following statement during the Live Q & A "No account is 'luckier' than any other account, its all about random probability. Naturally certain items like Ring of wealth increase your probability of a good drop."
