|Release||10 February 2009 (Update)|
|Quest item||Nomad's Requiem (No if inside Soul Wars)|
|Examine||It's a cape, and it's red.|
The red cape (more commonly known as the red Soul Wars cape) is a cape used in the Soul Wars minigame and is also a reward from the Grandmaster quest Nomad's Requiem. This cape is identical in bonuses to the blue Soul Wars cape. After the quest, players may purchase additional capes from Zimberfizz for 150,000 coins per cape. Multiple capes are obtainable by dropping the capes a player already owns. Zimberfizz can change the colour of the cape between red and blue for no cost at any time. Both colour capes can be obtained through the drop method.
The fire cape and Capes of Accomplishment have higher defensive bonuses than the Soul Wars cape; however, the Soul Wars cape has a very high prayer bonus. The Dragon Rider cape is better in all aspects than the Soul Wars cape. Wearing this cape gives an advantage where prayer is needed, such as during quests, Slayer tasks and player-versus-player combat. In addition, it is a status symbol, as getting one requires the player to complete one of the most challenging quests in the game. However, taking it into dangerous player-versus-player combat is not recommended due to the high price of getting the cape back. The killer receives 60,000 coins instead.
The cape cannot be taken into a Soul Wars game; however, the cape inside the minigame provides the same bonuses, provided players have completed Nomad's Requiem.
The version worn outside Soul Wars does not collect arrows, unlike the version worn inside minigame.
