[edit] The Council frozen in time

The frozen Council.
  • A cutscene ensues, where the Duke will get a visit from the Mysterious Old Man and will leave the room to deal with it. Osman will then get taken away by Evil Bob.
  • At this point, you enter the room. A short while later, the Culinaromancer crashes the party and starts to attack everyone at the dining table with magic spells.
  • Luckily, the Gypsy from Varrock (who arrives late to the banquet) enters the room and casts a spell to freeze everyone in time (except you and her). (Although the banquet attendees and the Culinaromancer are frozen, you will be able to enter and exit the dining room at will.) You learn the Culinaromancer was a cook in Lumbridge a hundred years ago.
  • To protect each member of the council from the Culinaromancer's spell, you must feed each of them their favourite food. After you give each member his favorite dish, Gypsy teleports him away to safety and tells you how many more council members are left to protect. The Gypsy and Cook will both be there to help you.
  • You can complete these subquests in any order and start as many of them at a time as you want. Each subquest gives 1 Quest point and opens up further access to the Culinaromancer's Chest. In addition to this, there are additional experience rewarded depending the subquest.

[edit] Trivia

A player making the Futurama reference.
  • Many parts of the quest reference the number 100 since this was the 100th quest that RuneScape released.
  • 'A few beers later' is a pun on 'A few years later' (This phrase was later changed to 'Several beers later')
  • When informed, (By Gypsy Aris), that the universe could be destroyed, the player exclaims, "Not the whole universe! That's where I keep my stuff!" This is a reference to the animated comedy series Futurama.
  • The 3 monkeys during Awowogei's part is a reference to the 3 Wise Monkeys, who can see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.
  • Kamil shouts "Sallamakar-Ro" when he casts spells. Karamel, on the other hand, shouts "Semolina-Go".
  • Before the release of Grim Tales, this quest had the highest requirement, with 70 Cooking.
  • The names of the final bosses are a play on words of some foods and certain quest bosses:
  • Evil Dave still lives with his mother in the basement. This may be a joke on the secret hideouts of many villains.
  • The quest point requirement used to be only 175. It was increased to 176 after the Learning the Ropes tutorial update, which gave an extra quest point upon completion.
  • If you examine Mudknuckles while he is on the wall, it says "Half way up the wall is maybe not a naturally tenable position for a goblin."
  • The cook, after telling you about defeating the Culinaromancer, says, "Did you ever know that you're my hero?" This is a reference to Bette Midler's "Wind beneath my Wings".
  • During the quest if you ask the cook for help, he will say that you already saved the people. This is because in his current time outside of the frozen dining room you have saved them, and therefore asking how you saved someone you already saved would cause a time paradox, as the gypsy informs you.
  • The song Chef Surprize was available to people who did not start the quest after a glitch involving the Pest Control Update. This glitch was later fixed.
  • When you attempt to release Pirate Pete, the gypsy exclaims "Wait a moment, my gypsy-sense is tingling..." This is a reference to Spiderman.
  • The bank in the castle cellar which is unlocked after the quest can not be used to collect items from the Grand Exchange and returned items box.
  • When asking the Lumbridge Cook for help on a section of the quest you didn't start yet, the gypsy will stop you, saying that it will make a time paradox if they don't talk to her about it first
  • It has always been possible for players with 1 defence to complete the sub-quests up until they have Mithril Gloves. However, a recent change to the quest Monkey Madness means that players with 1 defence can now return to Ape Atoll. This subsequently allows those players to complete the sub-quest Freeing King Awowogei and obtain up to Adamant Gloves, providing they have 48 Agility and 70 Cooking.
  • The name of the quest, "Recipe for Disaster," is an idiom meaning a mixture of people and events that could only possibly result in trouble.
  • Players can unlock the track 'Too Many Cooks' before it is time to save Mudknuckles by climbing down the ladder and walking towards the Goblin Cook in Goblin Village.
  • Mudknuckles said, when Freeing the Goblin generals, "I think ill call it 'fast food' because how fast it goes from raw to burnt!" This probably a joke that jagex made saying how fast food restaurants got their name and how mediocre they are when they cook the food.
