[edit] Walkthrough
- The Cook is preparing for the centennial feast in Lumbridge. He is going to cook using a recipe that was created by his ancestor Franizzard Van Lumbcook a hundred years ago and handed down to him by his forefathers. However, he needs your help gathering the ingredients.
- The Cook tells you that he needs a newt's eye, a Greenman's ale, a rotten tomato, and a Dirty blast.
- When asked how to make a Dirty blast, he tells you to add ashes to a Fruit blast that you make yourself. (Alternatively, the Fruit blast given by Curator Haig Halen for completing the Digsite Quest will work.)
- The Cook also gives you 100 coins to buy everything and allows you to keep the change.
- Buy an Eye of Newt from any Herblore shop.
- Greenman's ale is sold in Yanille.
- A Rotten tomato can be bought at the Duel Arena, at the Yanille pillory, at the Seers Village pillory, or at the Varrock pillory (select "buy from" option).
- Make a Fruit blast. (If you bought ingredients at the Gnome Stronghold's Grand Tree, you can make the blast there. Otherwise, you can make it when you return to the Cook.) (Note: Buying a premade Fruit blast will not work for the quest: It needs to be "fresh").
- Add the ashes to make a Dirty blast.
- Once you have all four items, give them to the Cook.
Congratulations! Subquest 1 of 10 complete.
[edit] Rewards
- 1 Quest point
- An invitation to the feast
- The ability to start 8 new subquests
[edit] Subquests 2 to 9
[edit] The Secret Council
- Enter the doors to the dining room to observe the feast.
- You will see members of the Lumbridge Secret Council seated at the table:
- A Mountain dwarf from White Wolf Mountain
- Osman from Al-Kharid
- Gypsy Aris from Varrock (Aris is late to the feast and does not arrive till after the player enters the room)
- General Wartface and General Bentnoze from Goblin Village
- Pirate Pete from Morytania
- Phileas, the Lumbridge Sage
- Evil Dave from Edgeville
- Skrach Uglogwee from the Feldip Hills
- Sir Amik Varze from Falador
- Awowogei from Ape Atoll
- Duke Horacio
[edit] The Council frozen in time
- A cutscene ensues, where the Duke will get a visit from the Mysterious Old Man and will leave the room to deal with it. Osman will then get taken away by Evil Bob.
- At this point, you enter the room. A short while later, the Culinaromancer crashes the party and starts to attack everyone at the dining table with magic spells.
- Luckily, the Gypsy from Varrock (who arrives late to the banquet) enters the room and casts a spell to freeze everyone in time (except you and her). (Although the banquet attendees and the Culinaromancer are frozen, you will be able to enter and exit the dining room at will.) You learn the Culinaromancer was a cook in Lumbridge a hundred years ago.
- To protect each member of the council from the Culinaromancer's spell, you must feed each of them their favourite food. After you give each member his favorite dish, Gypsy teleports him away to safety and tells you how many more council members are left to protect. The Gypsy and Cook will both be there to help you.
- You can complete these subquests in any order and start as many of them at a time as you want. Each subquest gives 1 Quest point and opens up further access to the Culinaromancer's Chest. In addition to this, there are additional experience rewarded depending the subquest.
[edit] Freeing the Council members
There are nine council members you must save from the Culinaromancer:
[edit] Subquest 10: Killing the Culinaromancer
- After you have freed all the council members, you will see a cutscene, where Gypsy Aris restarts time by saying "Tempus procedit!" The Culinaromancer will then retreat through the portal. Gypsy says you too must go through the portal to finish him off.

[edit] Trivia
- When informed by Gypsy Aris that the universe could be destroyed, the player exclaims, Not the whole universe! That's where I keep my stuff! This is a reference to the animated comedy series Futurama. The original quote came from the cartoon series "The Tick". Interviewer: Well, can you... blow up the world? Tick: Egad. I hope not. That's where I keep all my stuff.
- The 3 monkeys during Awowogei's subquest are a reference to the 3 Wise Monkeys, who can see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.
- The names of the final bosses are a play on words of some foods and certain quest bosses:
- Banana and Agrith Naar becomes Agrith-Na-Na
- Flambé and Fareed becomes Flambeed
- Caramel and Kamil becomes Karamel
- Dessert and Dessous becomes Dessourt
- Gelatin and Dagannoth Mother becomes Gelatinnoth Mother
- The quest point requirement used to be only 175. It was increased to 176 after the Unstable Foundations tutorial update, which gave an extra quest point upon completion.
- The cook, after telling you about defeating the Culinaromancer, says, "Did you ever know that you're my hero?" This is a reference to Bette Midler's "Wind beneath my Wings".
- The song Chef Surprize was available to people who did not start the quest after a glitch involving the Pest Control Update. This glitch was later fixed.
- When you attempt to release Pirate Pete, the gypsy exclaims "Wait a moment, my gypsy-sense is tingling..." This is a reference to Spiderman.
- When asking the Lumbridge Cook for help on a section of the quest you didn't start yet, the gypsy will stop you, saying that it will make a time paradox if they don't talk to her about it first.
- It has always been possible for players with 1 defence to complete the sub-quests up until they have Mithril Gloves. However, a recent change to the quest Monkey Madness means that players with 1 defence can now return to Ape Atoll. This subsequently allows those players to complete the sub-quest Freeing King Awowogei and obtain up to Adamant Gloves, providing they have 48 Agility and 70 Cooking.
- Players can unlock the track 'Too Many Cooks' before it is time to save Mudknuckles by climbing down the ladder and walking towards the Goblin Cook in Goblin Village.
- Originally it was impossible for a player to retrieve his items if he died during the final boss battles. On 16 June 2009 an update changed it so that your items would appear by the portal.
- Ironically there is a cookbook entitled Recipes for Disaster.
