Raw cavefish detail

Raw cavefish are a type of fish that can only be found in the Living Rock Caverns underneath the Dwarven Mine. Players who wish to catch Cavefish should beware of the high level Living Rock Guardians in the area. Fishing with other players can be safer for an individual by spreading the creatures' attacks out amongst the group. The official world for fishing in the Living Rock Caverns is world 84. Players need a fishing rod and normal fishing bait to catch cavefish.

They were introduced with the Living Rock Caverns update on 17 September 2009. Raw cavefish can be cooked to produce cavefish.

Players need 85 Fishing to catch raw cavefish, and 88 Cooking to cook them. Fishing Cavefish yields 300 experience and players will receive ~40k xp/hour, while cooking yields 214 experience. Players wearing cooking gauntlets will stop burning Cavefish at level 94 Cooking. By cooking cavefish, players will receive ~259k xp/hour, which is slightly more than sharks.

TriviaEdit

  • In-game cavefish are yellow with black stripes and have eyes; and they turn pink when cooked. Real world cavefish, however, are pink when alive, have no stripes and no eyes (thus they are also called blindfish).
