The Queen's guard staff is available as an uncommon reward from the Squeal of Fortune. It is one of the five pieces that make up the Queen's Guard outfit. According to Jagex, it is only possible to win the pieces of this outfit, alongside the Dragon ceremonial outfit, "throughout the summer months." Once a particular piece has been won, it won't be available as a reward again as long as the player has it. In other words, it's impossible to win duplicate items.

One of the unique features of this item is that, when the entire set is complete, it can be re-coloured when you wear all 5 items by right clicking. This ability is also shared with the Dragon Ceremonial clothes. "Re-colouring is a first for cosmetic items of this nature" according to Jagex.
