The Queen's guard hat is available as a uncommon reward from the Squeal of Fortune. It is one of the five pieces off the Queen's Guard outfit. According to Jagex, it is only possible to win the pieces of this outfit, alongside the Dragon ceremonial outfit, "throughout the summer months." Once a particular piece has been won on the Squeal, it won't be available as a reward again as long as the player has it. In other words, it's impossible to win duplicate items.

One of the unique features of this item is that, when the entire set is complete, it can be re-coloured when you wear all 5 items. This ability is also shared with the Dragon Ceremonial clothes. "Re-colouring is a first for cosmetic items of this nature" according to Jagex.

To recolor the set, simply have all 5 pieces of the set equipped, go to the Worn equipment tab, right click any piece of the set, and chose the "recolour" option. This will open a menu allowing the player to select the color he or she desires.
