Purple partyhat

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Purple partyhat comes from opening a Christmas cracker. It is so expensive because it is a discontinued item, because no more are produced in the game except by opening Christmas crackers, which are also discontinued. This means that no more of them are available. The purple partyhat was originally the most expensive of the partyhats, but became the cheapest after the partyhat duplication glitch.

[edit] File:Pinkphat.PNG Pink Party Hat

In RuneScape Classic, partyhats were simply called "Party Hat" with no colour in their name. What is now the purple partyhat was more pink in colour, so players assumed that this partyhat was pink. After the release of RuneScape 2, Jagex made a slight colour change to the "pink" Party Hat, and then named it purple partyhat.

The purple partyhat is still pink in RuneScape Classic. The reason it is still pink in RuneScape Classic is because Jagex has not bothered to change it, and has no plans to do so in the future.
