Protect from Missiles, or more commonly referred to as Protect from Ranged, is accessible at level 40 Prayer.

When used, the player receives a 50% damage reduction from Ranged attacks used by monsters, and will receive a 40% damage reduction from other players' ranged attacks. When using Protect from Missiles, it will drain the player's Prayer by 3 points per second, which is equal to the rate of Deflect Missiles, the Ancient Curses equivalent. Damage reduction includes dark bow special attacks, making it so that they hit a minimum of 30-30 Lifepoints with normal arrows and 48-48 life points with dragon arrows. Players with this prayer activated will have an image of an arrow above their character.

Players should note that this prayer can not be used in conjunction with Protect from Melee or Protect from Magic; however, Protect from Summoning can still be used with this prayer.

HistoryEdit

On RuneScape Classic, this prayer blocks out ranged and magic attacks with 100% effectiveness. As NPCs do not attack with magic or ranged, this prayer is restricted to PvP activities, such as the Wilderness.

Prior to the Evolution of Combat, along with Protect from Melee, Protect from Magic and their curse counterparts, this prayer blocked 100% of damage from monsters of their respective combat style.
