Potato seed detail

Potato seeds are the first seeds able to be grown in Farming. They can be used to grow potatoes by planting three seeds together in an allotment patch.

They may be found randomly while picking potatoes from a field. They might also be obtained by pickpocketing master farmers, purchasing or stealing them from Olivia's seed stall in Draynor Village, purchasing them from Head Farmer Jones, or occasionally as a reward when running favours for the Wise Old Man. You can purchase up to 500 potato seeds every 4 hours on the Grand Exchange.

A nearby gardener will ask for 2 buckets of compost to watch over your growing potatoes.

White lilies, which are obtained from full completion of the hard Falador Tasks, will prevent potato disease.

Players stealing from master farmers in Draynor Village usually drop potato seeds because they are too low for their farming level, since potatoes are the lowest level crop a player can grow.

Trivia

  • Potatoes are usually grown from tubers, not seeds; it is possible that the incorrect term was used by Jagex for simplicity and consistency in naming.
  • The value of one Potato seed in Mobilising Armies is 2 Investment Credits.
