Podcasts are the audio recordings of sessions wherein two or more Jagex Moderators discuss a specific topic, ranging from future updates to lore to parts of the development process. The podcasts started with a series called Above the Lore on 2 May 2013, which lasted for 13 episodes and discussed the lore associated with RuneScape. After a hiatus, these were followed by the Pollcasts that discuss the options on active Power to the Players polls. In between, other podcasts have aired featuring different topics such as the QA testing procedures.

There are weekly episodes which are played on the radio of the fansite RuneZone. These episodes are later uploaded to Jagex' Podbean account. Questions may be submitted in designated threads which are stickied on the Future Game Updates forum.

Above the Lore

Above the Lore was a podcast series focusing on RuneScape's lore, hosted by the Senior Narrative Designer, Mod Osborne. It occured at 9:00PM BST every other Thursday on the fansite RuneZone's RuneRadio. The first episode was aired on 2 May 2013, and episodes continued airing every other Thursday since then, with a short break for RuneFest.

At the end of each podcast, there was a "Question Roulette" feature, where mods were asked random questions gathered from a thread in the Future Updates section on the offical forums. After that, a note from the Chaos Elemental was given, which was often a cryptic hint to future content.

After the cancellation of the 14th episode, it was put on hold, and was eventually replaced by Pollcasts.
