Plateskirts are a type of armour worn mainly by melee warriors in the leg slot. They are exactly the same in stats as platelegs but with a more feminine style. Among melee attack types, plateskirts provide good defence against the slash attack type but are more vulnerable to the crush attack type. Plateskirts give a player penalties towards ranged attacks and penalties towards magic defence. However, plateskirts have very good defence against ranged attacks.

Plateskirts can be made with the Smithing skill (with the exception of the dragon, white, Black, and plateskirts from treasure trails) or purchased at Ranael's Super Skirt Store in Al Kharid, identified by the icon (Skirt shop icon) on the minimap.

They are less popular and consequently less expensive than the platelegs even though they share the same stats and weigh 1 kg less. Some players buy plateskirts instead of platelegs because they are cheaper and in less demand. In RuneScape Classic, the NPC Thrander could transform platelegs into plateskirts and vice versa for free.
