Pest Control Riot
From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape
The "Pest Control Riot" was a widespread community disapproval movement that occurred on 17 July, 2007, when Jagex made an update which involved the lowering of the Pest Control experience. Pest Control experience was lowered by 30% on an average, counting all factors. This resulted in a significant amount of discontent from Pest Control content users.
This riot had a lot in common with the familiar SAVE SS riot, with the famous words "SAVE SS, OR NO RS". A parody of the statement was called at this riot, namely "OLD PC, OR F2P" or "WE PAY, WE SAY. OLD PC OR NO PC!"; stating the players would cancel their memberships if they did not get what they wanted.
Similar to the Rule 7 Protest, Jagex moderators tried to disperse protesters, but did not succeed.
This is the fourth major event that has occurred in Falador, the first three being the World 111 Glitch, the Rule Seven Protest, and the 14-Hour Riot, respectively. Like all but the Rule Seven Protest, the riot had no lasting effects.

[edit] Legacy
The legacy of this riot is little. Jagex stayed firm with its stance on the new Pest Control, and as a result, PC products and the idea that combat training is most profitable at Pest Control is now largely obsolete. However, this, like other riots, would all build up to the Pay to PK Riot at the end of 2007.
