The Pendant of Ranging is obtained by playing the Squeal of Fortune. When worn, it provides double experience for Ranged. It will degrade until no more experience can be doubled—the remaining experience can be checked by right-clicking on it. Once fully degraded, it will not be destroyed, but it will have no further use. The total amount of extra experience it grants is similar to that of a Large XP lamp. Unlike most Squeal of Fortune rewards, the pendant appears directly in your inventory instead of in your bank.

There is a small glitch with this item when it is used with Red Chinchompas on Skeletons in the Ape Atoll Dungeon. The Bonus exp number (displayed in brackets on the Exp Pop-Up) shows considerably lower numbers than double the exp which should be earned - for example, it shows 950 exp earned with 50 bonus exp whereas the actual numbers should be 600 exp (400 Ranged and 200 Constitution) with 400 bonus exp (the hitpoints needs to be deducted). This is probably due to the relatively large amounts of exp earned in each shot whilst using Red Chinchompas there. Despite this visual error, the actual amount of exp earned is truly doubled.

This pendant does indeed work with a dwarf multicannon.
