Otto Godblessed, a barbarian warrior interested in the cultural history of his people, will offer to teach eligible players about Barbarian Skills, and will give them the book Barbarian skills and My notes for keeping ancient pages from the Ancient Cavern.
He may be found in his house to the north of the Baxtorian Falls. He teaches players abilities such as how to make hastas, fish with their hands and light fires without a tinderbox. Talk to him to start. A player's Fishing level has to be at least 48 for Otto to verse them in the arts of Barbarian fishing with a Strength level of at least 15. Their Firemaking level has to be at least 35 for Otto to verse them in the arts of Barbarian firemaking, and their Herblore level has to be at least 4 for Otto to verse them in the arts of Barbarian herblore. Also when you do start to do the fishing you will get your own Barbarian rod which can be found under his bed. When you're working in the art of Barbarian fishing you will need a knife to create bait from your fish.
