New Year's Resolutions is a Treasure Hunter promotion running from 5 January to 11 January 2017. The player can open Treasure Hunter to receive a list of resolutions that can be clicked to begin the event. Ironman Mode players can instead collect the list from Diango. Similar to the previous events, Death Lotus Training, Zodiac Training and Walk Like a Zombie, the New Year's Resolutions features a checklist of time-sensitive tasks that players can complete to gain rewards.

List of New Year's Resolutions

Although the New Year's Resolutions event is open to free players as well, most of the tasks can only be completed on a members world or in members areas. Tasks may be skipped through the use of gold star stickers, which can be won from Treasure Hunter. This is useful for free players who want to complete a single row (or column) and members who don't meet the minimum required level to complete a task.

After completing the full list of tasks 5 times, players can no longer complete the tasks for rewards, and any Gold star stickers earned via Treasure Hunter can instead be used as a Medium prismatic lamp.

Tasks[]

1-30[]

Party Pete's lost wig

A player finding Party Pete's lost wig in a field

Task Requirements Members Notes
Saturday Night: Find Party Pete's lost Wig. It's in a Field after a crazy Saturday Night. None F2P icon His afro moves to a different wheat field every hour. The location is not shared across every world. There is no dot on the minimap (as there normally would be for a dropped item).
Go for a run: Run to the north most part of the Wilderness! (beyond the north-eastern volcano) None P2P icon Head to the north-eastern corner of the Wilderness (level 56). You will need to stand east of the shipwreck. Teleports do work, actual running is not required.
A New look: Change something about your appearance for that '2017' look, whatever that is in the 6th age. None F2P icon Appearance tab - This can be done simply by changing your hairstyle or colour in the customisations interface.
Jan-u-dry: Visit the following - Blue Moon Inn, Blurberry's bar, Dead Man's Chest, Dragon Inn, Poison Arrow, Forester's Arms, Jolly Boar Inn, Karamja Spirits Bar, Rising Sun Inn and the Rusty Anchor Inn. None P2P icon

A suggested route is:

Of course the order of lodestone teleports is completely irrelevant and can be changed in any way.

31-60[]

Task Requirements Members? Notes
Respect the Law: Play a game of Heist. None P2P icon Minigame not accessible to ironmen; must talk to Party Pete instead.
Grown your own: Harvest a pineapple. 51 Farming P2P icon The pineapple must be grown in a fruit tree patch, using a pineapple sapling (payment: 10 watermelons). The native ones around Karamja do not count. This works for previously grown Pineapple patches and it is advised to keep one planted for the event, as it can be gathered from multiple times.

Coeden will sell pineapple seedlings for 20,000 coins, which can be watered to produce a sapling. This can be useful for ironmen, while regular players can simply buy a seed off the Grand Exchange.

Delia-cious: Cook healthier food by making Tangled Toads' Legs using your gnome cooking skills. 40 Cooking P2P icon Players will need:

All but the toad's legs can be purchased from Hudo in the Grand Tree. Closest swamp toads can be pickpocketed from gnomes. Swamp toads can also be found in the northwest swamp area of Tree Gnome Stronghold. Collect swamp toads and remove their legs to create toad's legs.

Give up smoking: Kill 60 dust devils in the Smoke Dungeon 65 Slayer P2P icon Partial completion of Desert Treasure or full completion of Smoking Kills is required. Be sure to use a mask of Dust, a Slayer helmet, or a face mask to protect yourself from them. Elite dust devils do not count.
