Mysterious chronicle detail

Mysterious chronicle (part 27) is a book found only in Daemonheim. It may appear in front of the dungeon-ending ladder after killing the boss monster.

Written in the year 79 of the Fifth Age. Bilrach can feel himself pulsing from the power of The Rift now, as he draws closer to it. He is progressing with exhilarating speed. He questions if Zamorak is giving him his power as he gets closer to him, but then he realises, if Zamorak would have such influence on this world, then couldn't he break through himself, without Bilrach's aid?

In this journal we can see that he begins to assume that whatever is at the bottom of the rift is Zamorak, as he doesn't seem to think that it's possible that it could be anything else behind or near the inter-planar portal. Perhaps this is the strange power's effect beginning to show on him? The Warped creatures we see in the dungeons all have noticeable effects, but since Bilrach is a Mahjarrat, it may have taken longer for it to get to him.

The following text is transcluded from Transcript:Mysterious chronicle (part 27).

Year 79 of the Fifth Age:

I pulse with it now: the power that seeps from the interplaner rift. I cannot be far, and we progress with exhilarating speed. I question whether my proximity to my Master has meant that he lends his power to mine. Wait - if He has such influence on this world, could He not break through Himself? I must not sully my purpose with doubts: the end is too close.

Zamorak be praised!
