A Mud battlestaff is a medium power mud elemental staff. It requires 30 Attack and Magic to wield and provides an unlimited amount of water and earth runes, both of which are used in curse spells. Earth and water runes are also used together in the Enchant Level 5 Jewellery spell, Bones to Bananas/Peaches Spell, and the String Jewellery Lunar Spell. A mud battlestaff can be upgraded to a mystic mud staff by Thormac for 40 000 coins after completing the Scorpion Catcher quest or for 27 000 coins while wearing a Seers' headband 3. Mud battlestaves are dropped by Dagannoth Prime. The mud battlestaff has a noticeably different appearance compared to the other battlestaffs and does not have an orb on top of the staff. This is the second released hybrid elemental staff before the Steam battlestaff and after the Lava battlestaff. Visually, the mud battlestaff is identical to the mystic mud staff.
