Mrs Gord is an old woman who resides at the Void Knights' Outpost, being the widow of a deceased knight. She is overprotective of their son Terry, refusing to let him train as a Void Knight out of fear he will be killed as well. This upset him greatly, causing him to break a vase out of anger. She blamed his friend Mariah, whom she disapproves of, not believing her son would do something like that.
During Quiet Before the Swarm, she is horrified at the idea of releasing pests onto the mainland and stubbornly refuses to let Terry begin training. After the team sent to deal with the pest is nearly completely wiped out, she reconsiders letting her son train in order to distract him.
