Iron ore is an item always in demand, due to its use in Smithing iron and steel bars. There are many locations to mine iron ore, but one of the best methods is mining in the Dwarven Mines. Near the Dwarven Mine resource dungeon are three iron rocks very close together as well as a bank deposit box inside the nearby resource dungeon.

You can cycle through the three iron rocks with little or no delay while the ore respawns, filling your inventory as fast as you can click between each rock. Once you have a full inventory, go into the resource dungeon and deposit your iron in the box near the entrance. Exit the dungeon and repeat. You can also find uncut gems while mining, which can increase your profit. An amulet of glory and a ring of wealth can help members find even more gems, but are not required. A gem is obtained at around 1/282 chance when mining a rock (without an amulet of glory and ring of wealth).

Members are recommended to complete at least the easy Varrock tasks in order to be rewarded with the Varrock armour 1, which when worn provides a chance of double ore per rock up to coal. Over time, the bonus ore provided from the armour will boost your iron ore and mining xp output, so it is recommended to wear the armour if you can meet the low minimum skill requirements for completing the tasks. Players with higher Mining levels can also occasionally opt to mine the nearby coal, mithril, and adamant rocks when they respawn, but bear in mind that the time they take to mine might yield less profit per hour than just sticking to iron.

An alternative to the Dwarven Mines for members is the Ardougne Monastery mine. In order to use it effectively, players should have at least the Ardougne cloak 1 from the Ardougne tasks as well as an item to quickly teleport to a bank such as the Ring of Kinship or TokKul-Zo. Then, it's as simple as teleporting to the monastery, briefly running to the iron rocks, and then teleporting to a bank once you have a full inventory. Since there are six iron rocks in close proximity compared to the Dwarven Mines' three, you can quickly cycle through all rocks without having to wait for respawns even on low population servers.
