Spined larupia are found at the southern part of the Feldip Hunter area. Create a pitfall trap by using one set of logs from a nearby jungle tree with a knife on your tool belt. Click on one of the larupia to tease them, which makes them attack and follow you around. Walk over to your set up pitfall trap with the larupia right behind you and jump over it. The larupia will either walk over it and fall in, or it will jump over as well. If it jumps over, set up a new trap at a new spot (they won't go over the same pitfall trap twice in a row) and repeat the process until the larupia falls in. Collect a pair of big bones and either tatty larupia fur or larupia fur. If you get tatty fur, drop it and bury the bones, then continue to collect the non-tatty fur to sell on the Grand Exchange.

The quickest way to bank is with a charged TokKul-Zo to the Fight Caves, if you have completed The Elder Kiln. After banking at the Fight Caves, use the fairy ring AKS to teleport north of the Feldip Hunter area, then run south to the larupia hunting grounds.

It is recommended to use the southern-most pitfall traps near the red sandstone mine. One larupia spawns directly south of the southern-most trap, and another spawns directly west of the pitfall trap northwest of the southern one. With a high Hunter level, you can continually catch the same larupia right after it spawns if it never jumps over your traps.

Summoning familiars such as the spirit larupia, spirit graahk, and spirit kyatt (level 57 Summoning) or the arctic bear (level 71 Summoning) will invisibly boost your Hunter level, making it less likely that a larupia will jump over your traps. Alternatively, if you have completed As A First Resort, you can take a dip in the mud bath in Oo'glog to the south for a temporary 10% Hunter boost if you have a Hunter level of at least 48.
