Molten glass detail

Molten glass is used in the Crafting and Construction skills. Fritz the Glassblower on Entrana will teach you how to make molten glass. Molten glass can be created through the Crafting skill by using a bucket of sand with soda ash on a furnace, granting 20 Crafting experience. Strange rocks for Crafting may occasionally be found while making molten glass.

Alternatively, you can use the Lunar spell Superglass Make, which converts all buckets of sand and all seaweed or soda ash into 30% more molten glass. This method does grant experience but only gives 10 experience as opposed to 20 from using the furnace.

Gathering materialsEdit

There are many ways to gather the raw materials but one of the fastest ways is to talk to Bert in Yanille; he will ship 84 buckets of sand per day to your bank if you talk to him after the quest "The Hand in the Sand". Also, 80 noted Seaweed per day can be bought from Arhein in Catherby for 2 coins each. Note that Arhein does not stock the seaweed in his shop; players must choose to talk to Arhein and use the prompt: "Can I buy some seaweed?" There is also a bank and a stove right next to Arhein for turning the seaweed into soda ash.

Fritz the Glassblower will buy molten glass for 20 coins (25 with the ring of charos) which is more than the price offered by general stores (1 coin), but less than the Grand Exchange at 518 coins.

It is possible to convert soda ash into molten glass without needing a bucket of sand by using a desert amulet 2 or higher. With a desert amulet 2 you can get 50 molten glass a day this way; with a desert amulet 4 you can get 150 per day.

In order to make many of the items, you must use a glassblowing pipe.

Some quests require molten glass to form glass items.
