A Mind shield is made after completing the Elemental Workshop II quest by having a Slashed book (from the Elemental Workshop I quest house) in the Inventory, then smithing a Primed mind bar into a mind shield. Its Magic defence bonus is +3 higher than the Elemental shield and also features +9 more Summoning defence. When equipped, it sends off a circle of an orange beam, which grows to the familiar circle of the shield and then stops. This is purely for looks, as it does nothing.
A Mind shield can be used as partial protection against the breath of Skeletal wyverns.
