Max the traveller is a pilgrim encountered during the Meeting History quest. Note that he is only available in "Past B" part of the quest. He lived during the First Age.
Max is resting at a small campsite south of Roger's farm, where he is preparing to travel further abroad. To reach the farm, players must use the Enchanted key obtained after the Making History or Meeting History quests.
