Marius is a character in the first RuneScape novel, Betrayal at Falador. Marius was a squire of the white knights and rival of Squire Theodore, often challenging and mocking Theodore and his peon Bryant. However, after Bryant's death, supposedly by Sir Balladish Marius regretting his action, took back his challenge towards Theodore. During the Siege of Falador he trained a group of volunteers to defend the cracks on the city wall, caused by the Chaos Dwarves' cannons. He later accompanied Ebenezer and Sir Tiffy Cashien into an underground tunnel in pursuit of the alleged spy Sir Erical, who turned out to be framed by Sir Finistere, who was the real spy. After Ebenezer and Tiffy managed to open the door with Sir Pallas' sacrifice, Marius slew Sir Finistere with a sword to the stomach. He left the body in the sewers before returning the Falador to fight. After the war, he was knighted for his contributions in the war, while his fellow squire Theodore was knighted separately in Varrock.
